This are the closest to AUTHENTIC MEXICAN TACOS AL PASTOR I have tried in the area! They have the trompo, pineapple, tortillas, cilantro and onion… agua de jamaica , horchata and even tres leches.
Highly recommend this place. It looks clean and they are very friendly.
They are only open 5-11pm

After coming across Compa Taco on TikTok, we decided to give it a try. Let me tell you! It did not disappoint! The parking lot can be a bit tricky, but everything else makes up tenfold. The service is incredible. The food is served as hot as it is delicious and tender! We ordered more than 20 tacos (pastor and steak); as well as quesadillas and Horchatas. Everything came out quickly with such personable service.
Upon ordering and explaining this was our first time, we were even offered samples. I mean, seriously? Incredible. We would definitely recommend coming here and we will definitely be back!

My wife and I tried Compa Taco for the first time tonight, and there’s a pretty good chance we’re going to be trying it for the second time tomorrow night. We tried the pastor street tacos, asada street tacos, asada quesadilla, and horchata along with all three sauces (red, green, and Compa).
The street tacos were perfect. Plenty of filling, but not overloaded. The asada was delicious, but the pastor was so good we went back and got two more for the road. I’ve eaten my fair share of street tacos, and I normally leave off the onion. I didn’t tonight, though, and I’m glad that I didn’t. They diced the onions fairly small, so they added some good flavor but didn’t overwhelm the meat.
The asada quesadilla was the best quesadilla I’ve had in a while. The meat and cheese melded together well, and I never once got a chewy piece of meat (same goes for the tacos).
The sauces were all very good, but the green sauce was our favorite. The Compa sauce was very hot but still had good flavor.
The horchata was wonderful, as well. I liked that they bottle it so you can always give it a shake before you get another drink.
On top of all of this, the service was excellent. The man taking our order gave us each a pastor taco to try for free since it was our first time there. Then, when they gave us our food, I asked to take a picture of their meat spit with the pastor before they closed the window. Not only did they let me do that, but they invited me to come inside the (very clean) food truck and get a closer picture.
10/10, would eat again and again.

Second time here and it never misses. Got my food in under 10 mins — everything was fresh, flavorful, and so good. Highly recommend!

The best authentic tacos in Charlotte! The customer service from Hernando was excellent. He let us try a whole taco for free as a sample since it was our first time and gave us two full size drinks to try as well. They were kind and the food came out fast. 10/10 tacos. The night I went it was $10 for 4 tacos and it was very filling. They also have taco Tuesday, 2 tacos for $3.50! They take cash, card, Apple Pay!

I am from Mexico & these are the closest to home I’ve tasted. The salsas and aguas frescas are really good as well. I always order to go since the parking can be tricky, but I don’t have an issue with that. Pls go here, you won’t regret it!

Compa Tacos is hands down one of the best taco spots I’ve ever been to. From the moment you walk in, the energy is welcoming and the team makes you feel right at home. The service is top notch—friendly, fast, and on point every time. Huge shoutout to Michael for going above and beyond—his hospitality and attention to detail truly made the experience unforgettable. Now the food… absolutely incredible! Everything is super fresh, made to order, and packed with authentic flavor. You can tell they care deeply about quality and consistency. Whether it’s the tacos, salsas, or even the sides—every bite hits. I’ve been to a lot of taco places, but Compa Tacos stands in a league of its own. This is the single best taco truck in Charlotte hands down. I’ve been trying to find the best tacos in CLT for years, and these guys have it locked down. They are the only place I’ve been that has a proper al pastor on rotation. The pastor is smoky and tangy with the fresh pineapple. The asada is high quality and super flavorful. The sauces are perfectly spicy and delicious. Super friendly owners and incredible tacos.
