Overall, I had a generally positive experience. The food was good, and I enjoyed it, however, it was a bit pricier than similar barbecue restaurants. I had a barbequed pork steak. The atmosphere was welcoming, but there seemed to be quite a bit of emphasis on the bar in the restaurant I do not drink so I don’t like that the bar takes up such a large space and seems to be a big emphasis in the restaurant. The service I received was excellent. My waiter brought my food in anytime. They made her and provided adequate service to keep my drink refilled.

Extremely greasy food. Burnt ends were rubbery and fatty and tiny. Left a huge grease stain on the plate. Why are all the sauces spicy? I love spicy food but these weren’t good spicy, just heat with no good flavor. Even the sauce brought with the fried green beans had pointless heat added to it so you couldn’t share it with people who don’t enjoy spicy. I love spicy food but I can tell when the heat is covering bland food otherwise. The ribs were greasy as well. Extremely disappointed since we drove a long way to come here to try to food based on the reviews.

The most expensive mediocre meal. Ordered a cheeseburger, medium and was completely well done and dry. Chicken wings still had feathers. Showed the waitress and she just said sorry. 67$

Brisket was dry, flavorless, and tasted like it was left in a crockpot too long. Beans tasted good, but they were runny enough to really be a soup. Turkey was fire. Cole slaw was good, different than I have had before. I would like to try something else on the menu, an item that has a customer recommendation by it. Fries were heat. Mac was ight. Pork was good, but it made my friends gut upset the next day, but Pork can do that sometimes… Bar-b-que sauces were good.

I loved my last visit, but I will say this place seems to be hit or miss. I’ve gone 3-4 times and 2 of the times I was unimpressed/disappointed. Last Thursday it was one of the best restaurant experiences in Como. Oddly inconsistent which is why my rating isn’t a 5 star. The prices have gone up as well. I spent $35 on my lunch+dessert, but I left with plenty of leftovers. The funnel cake fries are to die for you get caramel to dip them in. I also got bacon BLT and it was loaded with bacon on crispy bread. The fries were good too.

Edit 7/3/25:
Dripping review back down after another disappointing experience. Food was not comparable to other location and they wouldn’t switch out my tomatoes on my bacon BLT to fried green tomatoes. Brad was not toasted on both sides and bacon undercooked- Very little crunch. The fries (one of the easiest things to cook) were hard and undercooked. We brought family who had never been and I felt embarrassed I suggested the place.

Food was just what I needed after driving all day. Kelsey provided the perfect level of hospitality and service. She even got multiple opinions for a question I had regarding Columbia v Kansas City. Very happy I stopped here to dine instead of grabbing fast food off an interstate exit.

The apps at this place are on point. The food is really good and the staff are very friendly. The fried green tomatoes are thick, juicy and the sauce is very good. The mushroom fries are delicious and thick. I’ve never had fried pickles like that in the best way. You definitely need to try this place.

I recently visited Como Smoke and Fire, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The ambiance was inviting, with a warm and rustic charm that set the stage for a good BBQ meal.

The food was generally quite good. The star of the show, the ribs, had a great smoky flavor. The other meats, including the pulled pork and ribs, were juicy and flavorful, making up for the brisket’s dryness. The sides were also noteworthy, especially the mac and cheese, which was creamy and delicious.

Service was a bit slow, which was a minor downside, but the staff was friendly and attentive once they got to our table. It seemed like they were a bit unmotivated during my visit, which might have contributed to the delay.

In summary, Como Smoke and Fire is a pretty good BBQ spot. While the brisket could use a bit more moisture and the service could be faster, the overall quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere make it a place worth visiting. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their offerings.

My boyfriend is from Kansas City and is very picky about his BBQ. He’s also currently doing carnivore so all he can eat is meat.

He absolutely LOVES the burnt ends and wings. His second favorite is the Bacon and Blue Burger.

I usually get the turkey and it’s always smoked properly and never dry.

Another over if my favorites are the Pulled Pork Egg rolls. Yummy!

I’d been craving hearty sandwiches lately and my husband suggested this place as I’m not normally a BBQ lover… we loved it so much that we’ve already been back three more times within a few weeks! The fries and the fried okra with the okra sauce are absolutely incredible.
For takeout on our first visit, I ordered the Cuban. It had great flavor, though it was a little dry for my personal taste—I added some extra sauce at home, which did the trick. On my second and third visits, I tried The Karen, and it was excellent both times. But honestly, that fried okra with sauce? Chef’s kiss
Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort food done right!
