Came in on sunday 7/22 for date night with my partner and had a remarkable experience! Chris our server was top notch the whole way through. We did the chef table, when i say each course had us blown away. The food had great flavor and left us wanting to try other things on the menu. That sourdough bread will have you in a head lock, how good it is. For our main course I selected the smoke duck and my partner had the crab & corn ravioli. I can still taste these two. Bottom line great spot to dine, great service lead to a fantastic date night

We sat at the bar at Common Restaurant and had an awesome experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with the bread, which was honestly on another level — easily one of the highlights of the night. I had the gumbo and my girlfriend ordered the fried portobello, and both dishes were outstanding. We wrapped things up with the panna cotta, which was the perfect way to end the meal.

One thing we really appreciated is that the restaurant is very vegetarian-friendly — my girlfriend had plenty of great options to choose from. But the best part of the night was the duo of bartenders. They were attentive, personable, and really elevated the whole experience. Great food, great vibes, and top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back.

Dropped into the Commons as we heard it was one of the better restaurants in Savannah. Great atmosphere! Their wine list and bourbon/whiskey offering are numerous and OFF the charts wonderful. The meals we enjoyed were prepared with creative flair and were delicious:) Service, by “AJ”, can be best described as non attentive. I’m not sure if they were short staffed but the table touches by “AJ” were noticeable absent. Our pasta meals, of which there were two, came out cold. We got the Managers attention and he personally addressed the problem by bringing back our meals. That throws the entire dinning experience of the table off. Now two people are eating and two people are waiting to eat. It definitely puts a damper on the experience for sure. The food and beverage selection and delicious food made up for the poor service and for those reasons, next time we are in Savannah, I would give the Commons Restaurant another shot.

We sat at the bar for dinner on New Year’s Eve. Jason and Evan were both amazing and made fantastic drinks. My husband’s Tequila Old Fashioned was the best one he’s ever had.

We had Oysters Rockefeller and the scallops as apps – both excellent. But the showstopper was the Short Rib Hot Plate that we shared for dinner. Fried cornbread? Say no more.

I wish I’d have taken photos of everything, but I was too busy enjoying it all.

Fantastic service, delicious food, properly poured drinks, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Visited previously but most recently in January 2026.

Reservation for the tasting menu (and a birthday) put us on the small 2nd floor area. Definitely a fun changeup compared to being at the bar area as we’ve done before. Also a personalized happy birthday note which was a pleasant touch.

Celebrating the birthday was low key, which was nice. Jared and the team made sure everything went smooth for us. No concerns with keeping water filled, drinks available and food on its way.

Tasting menu had some good options for vegetarians and this definitely is a plus for us to visit again.

They did swap out the espresso panna cotta for a pumpkin spice one (probably for how late it was), but solid choice and spices.

Ended the dinner with some sparkling wine.
Will definitely visit again.

Great service and amazing food & drinks! Will definitely be back. Very well decorated with an elevated cozy ambiance. Our server recommended I try their espresso martini to drink and I was definitely not disappointed + the art on top made it almost too pretty to drink.

I had the Brisket, Eggs & Gouda Grits and our friends had different dishes – I also tried the chicken and waffles. Both dishes were perfectly balanced, fresh and hot. The chicken and waffles probably could have easily fed 2 hungry people!

What a fun atmosphere!! Happy hour from 3-6 with .75 Kellum Oysters. Larkin our server was an attentive and bright light to our afternoon. The Gibbler Martini with Gin and ROASTED ONIONS was delicious- think Onion soup in a martini form- try it!!!

The oysters were spot on and reasonable- give them a try!!

An outstanding end-to-end dining experience at Common. Yes, it’s on the expensive side, but the quality of the meal and the attentiveness of the service will justified the cost.
We started with the Oyster Rockefeller, which was perfectly prepared. For mains, the Potato Gnocchi was light and pillowy, and the Seafood Fra Diavolo had a wonderful kick. The standout for creativity was definitely the Pineapple Situation with Mahi Mahi – the presentation was stunning and the flavors were incredibly fresh.
One thing we really appreciated was the atmosphere – even though the place was packed with people, it wasn’t noisy, and we could actually hold a conversation without raising our voices.
If you are a Bourbon fan, their selection is really good. Highly recommend for a dinner, where you want everything to be spot on!

To the bartender with the suspenders, mixology is your purpose! To the manger in the grey suit, you most definitely understand the assignment. Great job gents! It was our first time, but surely will not be our last. Oh wow, can’t forget the chef, your presentation was everything. Preparing the meals are half the battle, the proper presentation puts it over the top.
Thanks!
from the observers at the end of the bar.

Fantastic Experience! We chose to have the Chefs Tasting this go round and it was A+++. We sat at the bar and our bartender Ryan was exceptional. Very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Dishes were fantastic and the wine pairings were top tier. Will be back. FABULOUS
