Several years ago, we went to Common Grounds and had an AMAZING experience. My mom has talked about what a great time she had often. So it was obvious we’d try it out again during our stay in Nashville. Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the same as years ago. They have a large menu, they even had gluten free cookies, and the woman who (I’m assuming) runs the place was very eager to please… that’s about all the positive things I can say. It is not a calm environment and the atmosphere is just not good. There is stuff EVERYWHERE and it feels extremely cluttered. I would never go here to study or take a friend here to sit, solely because of the disorderly environment. We hope next time we come to town it will be more like it was last time!

Very comfy,cozy place to chill out. Iris, the owner, wasnt still long enough to get a good pic of her. Great place to hang out alone or have a get together. Quiche, Scones, huge cookies, etc…plus its a coffee house. One of those places that you walk in a stranger and leave as a friend.

We tested every coffee shop in Nashville to find the best espresso, this is the BEST place! The shot was pulled perfectly, we ordered a mocha and it was perfect also. If your looking for the best coffee drink in the area this is the best!

My husband and I have spent countless hours here sipping a salted caramel ganache or a mango smoothie while working on our computers. Iris is such a sweet and caring lady and always makes us feel loved. Numerous regulars frequent this place and many memories have been made here. This is the perfect spot to meet up with a friend for a coffee and heart-to-heart chat. A visit to Brown County isn’t really complete unless you stop in here.

The woman who owns this coffee shop is the sweetest and certainly left a great impression on the city and her little shop! The coffee was amazing, with so many unique and interesting drinks to choose from. There’s a lot going on in the surrounding environment, lots of books, pictures, etc., which can seem overwhelming, but it gives you something to explore while you wait on your coffee!:)

If you have never been loved well while being handed the most beautiful cup of coffee, espresso, real fruit smoothie,… Anything you can dream up in a cup… You have never been to Common Grounds. If Iris did not serve the best coffee in town I would still go because she has a heart as big as Texas! You go in thinking you only need a cup of coffee and you come out feeling like the world is not going to crash and burn, at least not today… Because you got an Iris hug. You got loved by a woman who only sees the best in everyone and wishes the best for everyone. Also,… The menu is extensive! I should know I have tried two of the three pages personally and I can Promise you. There is something for everyone here and don’t leave without getting at least one bag of the salted caramel cookies… Unless I’ve already bought them all. If so, I apologize.
