Super cute and cozy little café and boutique! We were passing through Hartford City and decided to stop by and check it out. I had a delicious pumpkin muffin with cream cheese frosting and a latte. My partner had a Frappuccino. We were both very satisfied. The atmosphere here is amazing, I wish I was a local so I could just hang out here. Perfect little place to live out your hipster cafe novel writing dreams. 10/10

Common Grounds is a lot bigger and cozier than people expect. We’ve got plenty of space for groups, study days, or just spreading out with your laptop. Most tables have outlets, extra lighting if you need it, and spots where you can tuck in and relax.

There’s a self-serve drip bar, a fireplace with a couch, a little boutique to wander through, and even a quirky outhouse-style bathroom people always talk about. Right on the downtown square, it’s a quiet, comfortable place to work, meet up, or just slow down for a minute.

As a foodie, I’m about to write something that I never thought I’d write.

If I had to choose one place to eat breakfast for the rest of my life, THIS would be the place!!!

I’m from out of town and this is my first time here. Looked like it would be a nice place to visit and it has not disappointed.

When you first walk in you feel like your entering another world. A world from the past that made you feel safe and cozy. That ambiance is reflected throughout the establishment. The balcony is where I chose to sit and I’m super happy that I did.

I ordered an iced mocha, half order of biscuits and gravy, and the quiche.

The ice mocha was very good. The quiche was light and fluffy with a perfectly flaky, delicate crust. The biscuit and gravy was perfectly delightful with a creamy sausage gravy that had just the right mix of sage and pepper with big chunks of sausage.

Will I be back? I certainly hope so!!!

This place deserves 10 stars!

This place is full of antique pictures and items that somehow all go together to create a very home-like atmosphere. My iced brown sugar cinnamon latte and caramel espresso chocolate chip muffin were delicious. The ladies working and the other people in the shop were so kind. Recommend stopping by for sure!

This is a fun place, a coffee shop with a clever name that is a lot more than a coffee shop. We had just discovered this place pre-pandemic, but it was so long ago, this was basically our first visit.

We decided to order wraps + potato salad (side dish) and soup. The potato salad, tangy chicken wrap and chicken bacon ranch wrap were good, the soup was even better… cheezy potato, with a great blend of cheese and seasoning. Between two of us, we also got a whipped coffee and a dirty chai latte. The whipped coffee was a unique drink we’ve never seen before, with a sweeter layer at the bottom and coffee whipped on top, the layers made to be mixed together as you drink.

The atmosphere will be a bit busy or over-the-top for some, but others will find the eclectic decor charming and fun. There’s a good amount of space inside with plenty of tables, chairs, and couches to accommodate all kinds of people.

I wish we could award 4.5 stars, as this was a great visit, but I couldn’t round up to 5, partially due to cost, which seemed a bit high for my frugal-leaning, value-for-money thinking. However, only slightly so, and I would much rather pay a little bit more at a unique, local place like this with a lot of character.

5 stars for those working: they were happy, easy-going, answered multiple menu questions, and really knew the menu well, too, with what looks like enough variety to make it interesting for multiple visits. Service was fast and friendly, although we were just minutes ahead of a modest lunch crowd.

If you’ve never been here before, it’s worth going out of your way to check out out…

This place is great. You should try everything, lol. If you go once, you will keep going. Try to loaded oatmeal, you will not be disappointed. My only complaints are they don’t have real lemon for lemon water, and not many drink options if you don’t drink coffee

The interior of this place, alone, is worth the trip! NO VEGETARIAN lunch options, but the muffin I got was delicious. Great selection of books as well. The cream in their smoothies can be replaced with almond milk, too.

Short visit in town and Common Grounds was highly recommended by local resident. We went to lunch and 3 of 4 ordered the chicken salad. One person had it in a salad surrounded by veggies, a second person had it in a wrap, I had chicken salad as a sandwich on wheat. Delicious no matter how it was served. The building was a furniture store in a previous life. Highly recommend a visit to this unique coffee shop serving breakfast, lunch, smoothies, and more! No doubt if I lived here I would be a regular.
