Common Ground Café is open in Veterans Plaza near the Public Library! We offer a full coffee bar, a variety of sandwiches and wraps, soups and salads, sweets and specialty drinks, as well as weekly specials for breakfast and lunch. The café also offers a paid internship to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to prepare them for the workforce. Participants complete a job skills training program to help them attain competitive employment in our community. We are operated by Progressive Directions, Inc., a non-profit organization providing services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.

This cafe has phenomenal, friendly, fast service. The food is confidently high quality and tasty (I loved the nachos). This place is charmingly small, but there’s a large outdoor dining area for days with fair weather. Plus, the restaurant is part of a non-profit organization. Come check it out!

Place is tiny! We went down to vote and decided to give the place a try. “Lackluster” is the best description. I had a cappuccino with a ham and cheese sandwich. The prices were ok. The coffee serving was generous and ok. The same could be said for the sandwich. There was a lot of rind fat and the poor sandwich was toasted to within an inch of its life. And I am not sure how they served what appears to be carved fresh off the bone ham that is salt-less. It’s just not somewhere you think “Gosh, I really want to pop down to Common Ground Coffee Shop and get a coffee and sandwich! Ah well.

I was served a delicious soup/sandwich combo by a wonderful little fellow that called me a “tall chocolate man.” Made my day. I did not order a soup/sandwich combo, but I was so taken aback by the gentle, fun loving nature of their staff that I did not even think about requesting my actual order.

The food was delicious and I like the chocolate latte. It’s a small place, but the staff were friendly and its right next to the library. The BLT was great even if a bit messy to eat. I will definitely be back.

Stopped in to grab a quick breakfast sandwich. Food was excellent. Wife had a croissant.with egg, bacon and cheese. Sandwich was overloaded with thick cute bacon. Which was cooked to perfect perfection. I had an egg, ham and cheese on toast which reminded me of an old fashioned cheese sandwich with fried egg and ham. Excellent find.

This little cafe is tucked away but once you know where is it, you’ll be back! Tried their cold lattes and we declared them YUM. The Strawberry lemonade was equally tasty. Loved being greeted and farewelled.
