Can’t remember exactly the pastries that we got but they were amazing. I believe it was Fig jam and pistachio Danish and the pear almond Danish. I THINK! LOL. Initially we thought they were pretty expensive and $6 a piece but my oh my mmmmm … We also got the country sourdough bread. Came in a loaf. Delicious as well.. the coffee sweet cinnamon late was meh. But idk good flavorful coffee has been good to find lately.. All in all place gets a 5 from me. If we are ever in the area id definitely visit again

We were looking for a quick cup of coffee but couldn’t resist the gorgeous pastries! We had two and bought two more to take with us. They were amazing. The coffee was great, too. The girls working were friendly and efficient. Great find!

A Must-Visit Bakery

Common Good Bakery is an absolute gem. Their pastries are phenomenal—flaky, buttery, and full of flavor. You can taste the care in every bite.

But the real star? The Cheddar bread! Crusty outside, soft inside, and packed with rich, sharp cheddar. It’s seriously addictive.

Friendly staff, cozy vibes, and consistently top-notch baked goods make this place a must-visit. I always leave with a smile—and a full bag!

Dine in options are mediocre and haven’t changed in years. Menu just stays the same. Coffee is okay. Hot tea is just a grocery store teabag so I wouldn’t waste my money on it. Bread and pastries are okay.

The most reliable thing about this place is rude service, at both locations. Every single time we have been there, there’s rude tone, eye rolls or some other display of attitude. 14th street location takes the cake for poor service though.

One of the best bakeries in North America (I am not exaggerating)!
This bakery beats Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor, hands down!
The croissants and bread are top notch and you can taste the love and dedication, that goes into every baked good.
Thank you to everyone at the bakery for being so nice and making every pastry the traditional way!

When you walk in you know it’s the real deal! Everything smells delicious! I had a Cubano, cherry and chocolate pastry, and tasted my friend’s turkey and pear sandwich and strawberry white chocolate pastry. All of it was amazing. Good to the last bit. I wanted to savor it completely. I had a very good coffee too!! I was a little nervous when the gal who made it said she doesn’t drink coffee, but despite her personal dislike of coffee she made a great cup!!! Yippee! I also have to brag on them, my second friend’s pastry had been slightly overheated rendering it a little tough, BUT they were so quick and kind to replace the pastry with a brand new one heated up PERFECTLY. I was genuinely blown away. I love bakeries like this one. The prices reflect their level of expertise and are worth it in my opinion. If I were a local, I’d be there at least weekly. Thanks guys for a great experience!

We went to the Eighth Street location for a quick breakfast between meetings. When I asked the clerk at the counter how long it would take to prepare a breakfast sandwich he copped an attitude immediately & curtly told me it would take at least 15 minutes. I then asked him how long it would take to heat up a prepared ham/cheese croissant & he told it would take some time. He went on to tell me that not being patient was the “American Way”. In respect of the other customers in line with a young family I choose not to share my thoughts with ths clerk. As a small business owner it’s a great reminder of how an employee can make or break a customer experience.

We stopped in yesterday for breakfast sandwiches, I was disappointed in the quality and price for the focaccia, sausage and egg.

Everything is very high priced at Common Good. That’s understandable for a bakery making everything from scratch with ingredient costs as high as they are now. However, for a $15 sandwich, the focaccia was very bland with no flavor. It could use some herbs or added flavor to it. The sausage was very greasy in the deli wrap and on the sandwich. It was ground instead of a patty or solid form. The only other ingredients were a bland egg and cheese.

To charge this much for there breakfast sandwiches that all range in this price range or higher you need to have better quality and add some ingredients. It was very basic, at least add a sauce or something to help the flavor. Avoid the ground greasy sausage.

Awesome local bakery! Their croissants are to die for. Highly recommend the pear almond danish and croissant ham and cheese sandwich. Lots of loaves to buy and great coffee/espresso drinks. Fav part was the incredibly kind staff!
