Great food, customer service, & live music by songwriters. We go twice a year. Very convenient when one stays at the Holiday Inn- Vanderbilt.

Unfortunately they were short staffed so take the service rating with a grain of salt. I didn’t eat, so I can’t rate the food. This is one of the places in Nashville where you can hear established and aspiring songwriters perform their original music. This experience is well controlled and runs smoothly. The sound is engineered very well and adds to the atmosphere.

Was on the very last leg of our 1,200 mile road trip and staying at the Holiday Inn. The weather was very bad so it was a necessity eating at the Commodore Grille. Our Server was very friendly as are most people in Tennessee. I say most because our hostesses well not so much. She didn’t want to be there. The drinks were ok not fabulous. The fried pickles ok. Fish and chips were ok. The spicy chicken sandwich was super good. Had a smoky flavor to it and the right amount of spice. As for music it was open mic style with emerging talent. I love that format. Anyway pretty much mid road experience. But again our server was soooooo great.

I’ve been here several times on their Songwriter Showcases on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The food is quite good, the service and atmosphere is excellent and prices are very reasonable.
My favorite there is their Brussels sprouts sauteed in a garlic sesame vinegarette.
Many of the musicians I’ve seen there are quite good. I actually got to meet Grace Morrison there,an EXCELLENT musician/songwriter/performer. One of my new favorites.
Parking is free if you spend $20 on food.

I had an amazing time here! I came here on Sunday to play an open mic and see songwriter night. I was able to see a hall of fame songwriter (Jerry Foster), and literally like 9-12 other valery talented musicians, and then got to play as well! Very professional set up, I was certainly the least polished person playing lol. Debi Champion, who hosted, was great.
The atmosphere, food, and service, were also all very good! I got the Nashville Chicken sandwich (very good) and some cocktails (very good). Definitely stop by this place on their songwriter nights if you love music. I highly recommend this place.

This place is another long standing Nashville music/restaurant tradition. Located near the Vanderbilt campus and inside the Holiday Inn. this place has lots of live music and writer rounds performances.
The food is just okay, nothing that you would go out of your way for. Typical food selections along with a fairly stocked bar.
If you’re traveling and need a place to stay, this is a great location and the food along with the live music make it a great choice to dip your toe into what Nashville is all about all in one spot.

A Must for Music Lovers!
This was my first time in Nashville, and after enjoying the lower Broadway bars, Old Town Trolley ride, our bus guide recommended checking out the Commodore for singer-songwriter nights. We took the advice — and I’m so glad we did!
We were lucky enough to see legends performing live, including the incredible Jerry Foster. Watching a 91-year-old Hall of Fame songwriter performing his own music was truly phenomenal. What an inspiration and unforgettable experience!
If you’re in Nashville and love original music with real songwriters – this is the place to be. You never know who you will hear.

An intimate restaurant with no frills..Just good food and absolutely wonderful service. The fried green tomatoes are to die for. They even have live music with songwriter performers when we were there. It was cool for first time visitors like us to Nashville.

The singer-songwriter night was a lot of fun. Maybe the next Taylor Swift or Luke Combs could be playing. Only had an appetizer, which was unremarkable. Staff was super busy but very friendly and nice. They don’t charge a cover but request you to spend $10 per person.
