We found them open on a Monday after the record snowfall. Great service and food. There’s a snow median on commercial st where there is no median. Nothing like going north in January to visit my brother

Commercial Street Pub is hands-down the best bar ever, and I do not say that lightly. It has all the charm, energy, and character you could want in a neighborhood pub, along with a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. This is not just another bar in Portland, it might very well be the best bar in the entire USA.
For Nebraska Cornhusker fans, this place is a dream come true. It is a true Husker bar, proudly repping the red and white and creating a game day experience that feels like home. Whether you are watching the Huskers with fellow fans or just soaking in the camaraderie, the vibe here is unmatched.
The drinks are cold, the pours are generous, and the prices are fair, which makes it easy to settle in for the night. The bartenders are friendly, quick, and always ready with a smile or a great conversation. You can tell this is a place where people come for both the drinks and the people.
Commercial Street Pub is the kind of bar that sticks with you long after you leave. Between the Cornhusker pride, the unbeatable atmosphere, and the amazing staff, it is the definition of a perfect bar. If you are in Portland, do yourself a favor and make this your first stop

Probably some of the best authentic Lebanese we have had in a very long time. Great food, tabule, and chicken skewer, with humus and pita. Regular Lebanese, just like home. Good value. You wont be disappointed!

Stumbled upon this bar while visiting and discovered it’s a Husker bar! We caught the game and were greeted by the friendliest, most welcoming people—it truly felt like a hometown spot. Great vibes all around!

My husband and I stopped here for lunch after exploring downtown Portland. We were greeted by a friendly waitress. Chairs were comfortable after walking so long.
We both got the chicken salad sandwich on bakery fresh bread and it was delicious.

The bouncer working on a Friday night on 1/16/2026 at around 9:30 pm to 10 pm was a prick. I had just gotten to the entrance and they were some people around the entrance on the side of the building. One guy asked me where I was going? I asked him why and he didn’t answer me. I thought he was just a drunk customer joking around with me because he was acting like he had been drinking or was on something. I told him I am just going to relax and have a drink in the bar and he didn’t say anything.
I then walked up the steps about to enter the door and then he assaulted me by grabbing my jacket almost causing me to fall on the ground. He said you never showed me your ID. I told him you never asked before I tried to walk in. I was trying to be polite, so I apologized to him and I tried to show him my ID. He told me he didn’t want to look at it and told me to leave instead. I knew at that point that I was dealing with a power tripping bouncer, so I left right away because I didn’t want any trouble.
I highly recommend people avoid Commercial Street Pub, considering there are many other bars in the area nearby, and I have never had a bad experience with the other bars yet. I went to the nearby bar Tomaso’s Canteen right after the incident and they treated me with dignity and respect. I will never go back to Commercial Street Pub.

Lovely little spot I had the pleasure of visiting with some old friends last night. The local flavor is rich – by way of the patrons and also the bartender, who was not only charming but also provided excellent service. I dont often frequent the Old Port but I will be stopping in again next time Im in the area.

Perfect spot to watch the games on Sunday. Everyone was super friendly and the bar had great local vibes. No food on Sundays, but they offered bagels in the morning and chili in the afternoon. They also let us order in, which was clutch. Would definitely come back.

Coming from Wisconsin, we were craving a true blue bar that would give us some reprieve from the bustle of shopping/exploring. Commercial St Pub was perfect – fun and full of great people. After going up the coast for a few days, we literally came back to do a shot one last time before leaving – thanks for reminding us of home in the BEST way! Come to this pub for a great time!
