I will start with the chips and salsa, it was really average, the salsa wasn’t that great and a little too chunky for my liking. Next we ordered drinks, after we got the margaritas, I asked if they were wine margaritas because they tasted funny, it was confirmed they were. They were some of the weakest margaritas you can get for the price, when you’re paying over $5 for a margarita, you want at least a little bit of alcohol in them. Now onto the meals, we ordered the chicken finger basket just to see how they were, I would say they were a little worse than you would get from Burger King or McDonald’s, plus the fries were terrible! The Mexican food was below average, the rice was okay, refried beans were a little watery, but that’s how I like them. The portion size you get for the price is terrible, everything in this restaurant was overpriced for what you got, to sum it up I will never be coming back. You can find a Tex-Mex restaurant around that is so much better, if you live in the area any of the colored tequila restaurants are so much better. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, but we waited over 35 minutes for our food, that’s terrible for this kind of restaurant. The only positive thing I have to say is about the staff, they were friendly, but we didn’t see them as much as we wanted to.

This was my second visit to comadres. The first time I sat down inside to eat, food was fair but I was very surprised at the portion sizes-small yet still priced at regular rate.
I chose to give them another try for lunch and did take out this time. I was disappointed in the entire experience. The chicken in my chimichangas was completely dry, I suspect it was chicken possibly cooked a day prior. The beans, like in other reviews are incredibly watery. Possibly canned and mixed with water to create larger batches to serve? I was anticipating a serving similar to what you would get served at the table when I ordered the chips and salsa. The salsa tasted quite different than the time prior. The food unfortunately went to waste and was a disappointment. I was also unaware they are charging more at the restaurant than the prices on the menu that they have displayed on their website. The lunch special I thought I was ordering his advertised at $8.95, as you can see I was charged $10.45.
Too disappointed to return.

It was a short wait to get in, but it was so worth it! I had the steak hard shell tacos, and they were fantastic! Very authentic. I will be going back!

Terrible. Salsa tastes like tomato paste. Queso was just like milk. And it was $9 for a tiny serving!!
One other group was there and they were just as disappointed.

Beautiful artsy interior, fast & friendly service, better than any other Mexican food I’ve had so far in Englewood, and just perfect tonight as I was too tired to cook and didn’t feel like going to one of our usual favorite loud, bustling places.

We really enjoyed lunch, food was fresh and the salsa and chips were amazing. The refried beans were the best. Can’t wait to return for homemade tamales!

The food was great and the atmosphere was really cool. The building is beautiful. Definitely a place you want to take pictures in front of. My only complaint was that there was a new waitress who wasnt attentive and got our order wrong many times. We would ask for things and she wouldn’t come back. But the manager swooped in and handled it brilliantly with no hurt feelings.

Great mexican food, the salsa was fresh and the waitress made sure she kept the chips and salsa filled. I had a tamale (could have been spicier) and a tomatillo enchilada that was nice and tangy.

I ordered the 2 item combo lunch. Chimichanga and beef enchilada. I’ve attached a photo….which is untouched and exactly how it was served to me. Chimichanga was about 2 or 3 inches long max. No lettuce, tomato, or sour cream served with my meal either. Refried beans tasted very diluted. Also, Upon arriving there they have a cash only sign so luckily I had some on me….but if you don’t you’re out of luck.
