CLOSED ON TUESDAYS!
Com Tam Saigon at Katy Asian Town is hands down my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Houston area — and the very first place I go when I land in town. I’ve been meaning to write a review for years! See my photos of the different meals I remembered to shoot. Anything you order, you can’t go wrong!

Everything here is consistently excellent. My go-to order is the Bún Thịt Nướng (B2) — the grilled pork is perfectly seasoned and cooked, the noodles are light, and the vegetables are incredibly fresh. I also love the garden rolls with pork or shrimp. What really sets them apart are the sauces: tangy, balanced, and flavorful without being overly sweet. You can tell care is taken with every component. We’ve ordered family meals, various entrees and it never disappoints.

Their soups are also outstanding — comforting, deeply flavored, and exactly what you want alongside a Vietnamese meal done right.

I bring family and friends here whenever I can, and everyone loves it. Their take out is quick and still as tasty. The staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming, the prices are modest and fair, and the whole experience feels like a breath of fresh air compared to Los Angeles dining. Parking is plentiful, and while Katy Asian Town has many good spots, Com Tam Saigon is always my favorite.

Reliable, delicious, welcoming — this place never disappoints. Try it!

The Vietnamese iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk was sooo tasty & not too sweet! My vermicelli dish with chargrilled pork was amazing too—I’d recommend any of their bun dishes really!

Our experience at Com Tam Saigon was average at best. While the menu was quite extensive, nothing in particular made us want to return for another visit.

Service – what you would normally expect from a Vietnamese restaurant. Brief, accurate, but not overly friendly.

Atmosphere – nothing mind blowing, everything seemed to be clean

Food – we were able to sample three of the items below:

Com Tam Saigon Dac Biet 2 – this was one of the restaurant’s signature dish with Vietnamese broken rice. The presentation was 10/10! Plate was beautifully presented. Taste-wise, just average. Nothing stood out as amazing.

Banh Uot Cha Lua Nem Chu – rice sheet served with fish sauce, pork bologna, and fermented pork sausage. Decent tasting, fish sauce was a bit bland. Restaurant was also skimping on the meat.

Goi Ngo Sen Tom Thi – lotus root salad with shrimp and beef. Good portion size and presented well on the plate. The vinaigrette was unfortunately lacking in flavor which brought down the entire dish.

Overall, not the worst Vietnamese restaurant we’ve been to. There’s a lot of better Viet restaurants here in the Katy area though. Given our average experience, we probably won’t be coming back.

The C18 com suong is super delicious! I got one for my dad too and he approved . But be aware that parking is slim pickens in this plaza on the weekend at pretty much all times of the day. I had to park at a different section and walk over to get my food.

We came to Houston for the day and when I come I like to eat vn food in Houston. We stopped in Katy Asian town and tried con tam Saigon for the first time. Although we did not order com tam I did order the egg rolls and the banh xeo. The egg rolls were typical nothing special but it bit the spot. The banh xeo was huge and was crunchy the whole time, it did. It get soft even when it cooled down and it came with a generous amount of fresh greens and the nuoc mam was on point. My bf ordered the bun Bo buying which had a good marinade and a hint of lemon grass which made it taste good but the meat was a tad dry but otherwise it was pretty good.

First time dining here with my family and we all really enjoyed our dishes! The textures and flavors were really good and our favorite was the egg side dish served by the slice. Also, don’t forget that every rice platter should come with a bowl of soup on the side, so don’t forget to ask for it! The spring roll appetizer was another favorite with the crunchy texture and delicious meat, nem nhuong. We will definitely be back to try out other dishes!

This is the place to go for home cooked meal Vietnamese style. My wife and I usually likes to order the family share style meal here, it reminds me when my mom had cooked for me when I was young. The food and service had never been a problem when I visited this restaurant. Their menu has many variety and I enjoyed the food I had chosen. I recommend giving them a visit to try.

Summary: A nice new place worth a try!

It was my first time here with my family. The food we ordered was good and the portions were generous. I believe it’s a great place if you’re looking to get a quick bite of Vietnamese food. The service was excellent and attentive to us.

We had the com tam (broken rice) Special #1, which came with shredded pork, baked egg, grilled pork chop, grilled shrimp, fried stuffed bean curd skin, sausage, and veggies. The dish came with a small bowl of clear broth as a side and fish sauce for dripping over the main plate of food. The plating of the food was beautiful and enticing. Everything on this dish tasted great.

We also had a bowl of bun bo hue noodle soup. The soup was delicious but a notch below other specialized bun bo hue restaurants around town. We would go back to try other items on their menu.
