Family owned since 1905, the Columbia is the oldest restaurant in Florida. The menu is Cuban-Spanish. There are now six other state locations. The restaurant has been named an All-American Icon, One of 21 of the Most Legendary Restaurants, Favorite Romantic Restaurant, One of Florida’s Best Restaurants and to the Distinguished Restaurants of North America Hall of Fame and Florida Trend Golden Spoon Hall of Fame. Wine Spectator awarded its Best of Award of Excellence every year since 2004 for the extensive collection, especially Spanish wines. Other locations include the original in Tampa’s Ybor City, Sarasota, St. Augustine, Celebration near Orlando, Tampa Bay History Center and Tampa Airport. Other brands: Ulele, Goody Goody.

Really nice place and an amazing waiter, so attentive and always at our table making sure we had what we needed. Great selection of food, and interesting too! The view is beautiful from outside where we sat. We got lucky because we didn’t have reservations, and came with a group of 7, they were so kind and found us a table immediately outside even though they were booked full. Really neat the history behind the restaurant too. Definitely loved the presentation of the meals too, when they brought our plates out! Here’s a couple pictures of 2 of our meals, one is a type of crab cakes (I can’t pronounce in Spanish) and the other is a type of chicken. One thing you may like to know is there is valet parking, which we didnt know beforehand, so when we got there we were confused and found out you have to use it, it’s free, they just work off the tips. They were sweet said you don’t have to but we wouldn’t have felt right not tipping.

This place has a really good paella, we ordered one to share with my husband and I regretted since the portion is only for one person and it was very delicious. Stephan was our waiter and he gave us a very good and friendly service. Sorry I have no pictures of the paella since it was so good that we finished it very fast! But come to try it if you’re in this area!

We didn’t make it to the original location in Ybor City due to the continuous downpour of thunderstorms throughout the area. However, we enjoyed our food, the decor, and the pleasantries of the staff. Everyone carried themselves professionally. The only downside is the location in which parking outside of the valet is null and void. So, have cash available for tips. Unaware if they accept credit card payments outside. Also, the view is somewhat unsightly on the patio due to the build-up of algae and green seaweed moss washed up. The yucky water outside took away from the overall view. Sit inside, it’s beautiful lots of sunlight flowing throughout the restaurant.

We were in town celebrating our wedding anniversary. The Uber driver highly recommended this restaurant. My wife and I went there, the service was outstanding the food was absolutely fantastic and the experience was one that we truly appreciated. While we were sitting there there were seagulls flying all around 1 actually landed on a table, and flew across and snatched the piece of bread off of our table. That was hilarious! Highly recommend the experience the food and the service.

Outstanding food and service. Our waiter (Kevin) had us covered whenever we needed anything. Tapas were all amazing, will definitely be back next time we’re here. Also, they had a nice small kids menu. Our girls had the steak and fruit as a side, they ate every piece.

Great food, great atmosphere! I got La Completa Cubana and my wife got the Pompano en Papillot along with a Mohito. Everything was delicious and our server was attentive without being hovery. It’s well worth a visit if you want to experience some dishes of Columbia/Cuba.
