Brisket and baked beans were very good. Mac & cheese, nothing special and our quarter rack of ribs were very dry…. Didn’t want to fall apart. Seemed like leftovers. Loved the environment!

I saw the reviews beforehand, but decided to take a chance since we’re not picky. Unfortunately, everyone is right. This is a brewery that tried adding a resturant and it shows. The BBQ is poor quality. I had the Cali sandwich with mac and cheese. The turkey was good, but the bacon was so hard and dry I couldn’t even chew it! The mac was also very bland. My husband loved his pulled pork tacos at least. For the price it’s not worth it. To order you go to the bar and when it’s ready you go into this back room to pick it up. I don’t mind self service, but when the pickup window is right next to the tables, they could easily bring it out. The beer was excellent, but there are no prices listed. Our beers were $7 and $8, which us pretty typical. Side note: there is a Thrift store across the street that has a ton of used winter gear. Highly recommend.

It’s a serve yourself place ( you place your order and you pick up your own food, water, napkins etc) which I’d be ok with, except the one staff member who we talked to (the guy who we placed our order with) just seemed unwelcoming and annoyed the entire time.

But our food wasn’t very good either. My brisket was ok, the meat just wasn’t very good, the bbq sauce wasn’t great and my girlfriend did not like her tacos.

Otherwise, the bar seemed cool, the building is nice, and the location was great. It’s right on the main streets just across from the lake.

This may be a much better bar experience than a bbq experience. We served ourselves so technically I give ourselves 5 stars for getting our own chairs ready and moving tables, and also we get 5 more stars for walking to the bar and ordering then going to pick up the food at the window.
As luck would have it I got the jerky, hard tack style ribs, and while those were ok, they didn’t fall off the bone as much as remind me of the rugged tough mtns we just skied. Fully finished all of them though, almost out of spite. Like skiing a triple black diamond- I know I can do it and I WILL get to the bottom no matter how many trees I hit! Personally I think they sat on the smoker 3 hrs too long. The absolute best dish was the brisket green chile bowl. Stick with that and you’ll have a 10 star dining experience. Pin ball machines were fun. Lively place and felt festive, and the staff was kind enough to help when we started setting up tables and chairs to sit at. As much as we wanted this to be great bbq, it just was a better bar to go sit and have drinks at.

Wish I had seen the rating before ordering – I assumed I was ordering from the brewery. My $14 turkey chili came out in a plastic deli container. Upon my first bite it was clear that the center of the chili was still refrigerator cold. I brought it back and they microwaved it for me in the plastic container. I’d consider it more of a soup than a chili. Considering you stand in line to order, get your own water, fetch your own food once it’s ready, and bus your own table, it is silly they prompt for a tip up front.

Stopped in here for some takeout bbq and ended up eating in because on Tuesday night they have free ski hot wax from 5-8 pm. The pork belly was so good I stopped back by today for some more! Brisket was good, sausage just ok and the pulled pork was delicious. Nice atmosphere and the beer was not my husband’s style.

There are no servers. There is one rude person who doesn’t greet customers or explain their unique system. Order at the bar, get your own water, give your phone number to be texted and pick up your own food.

And they still ask for a tip up front. I swear I feel like I’m in the twilight zone.

Al Pastor tacos were barely edible, soggy, full of vinegar. BBQ sauces were basic and flavorless. I got the “collard greens” as a side and they were NOT edible (or even chewable), so I asked for potato salad. I was met with so much hostility for interrupting the person’s leaning.

The “potato salad” was red potatoes in what tasted and looked like straight up mustard. I did not eat it.

My advice: stick to selling foods from your own region. The south doesn’t need new interpretations of their food. You murdered perfect recipes.

Place is over priced with small portions. Pictured is the brisket and collards… $11 and $2.50 respectively.

The mustard based BBQ sauce tasted like a straight bottle of mustard… the KC sauce was funky but not in a good way and the original is decent with a good spice buildup.

Bartender was very friendly but the guy taking the orders was rude and generally unhelpful. Was very rude, knowing it was our first time there, when we tried to order from the “bulk” to eat in. Apparently, that’s only for takeout but it’s not obvious on the menu…

Pulled pork was okay (sauces make the pork), brisket was decent but not very warm, baked beans were good, and the collards… tasted undercooked crunchy and bitter as hell. Don’t get the collards.

Atmosphere was pretty cool with some arcade games, pool tables and the such.

Overall, wouldn’t recommend the food at all. It would be a cool place to get a drink, play some games and watch sports.

Brisket (both the slices and the sandwich) was super fatty. Almost inedible, but we mucked it down didn’t plan to return it bc eh, maybe they do “fatty” brisket (my first time w/ this type maybe?). And the side said garlic/jalapeño cole slaw.. but was just normal coleslaw (?). At least their hazy was decent (Highside Brewing).

The bbq was horrible. It appears the ribs and pork were baked. Not smoked. The slaw had not flavor. The beans appeared to be bushes with a little tomato paste added. Maybe a 2 out of 10. Maybe
