Everything from the friendly personable service to the food was top notch!. Generous portions and was a very relaxing experience. Unfortunately we didn’t have room left in the tank for dessert! Will definitely be back! Shrimp dejongue appetizer with warm sourdough to start with was terrific.Chicken Marsala over pasta and the filet with the crab topping more than satisfied as well. And the caesar salad, twice baked potato and chili was the cherry on top! Perfect Valentines Day celebration! Thank you!

Excellent fish fry. Our table got the walleye, perch, and cod and traded pieces. All of them were good, but I liked the walleye best. The potato pancakes were some of the best I ever had. And all the accoutrements were there. A light rye bread with butter, tartar sauce, relish tray, applesauce, and coleslaw. All was good except for the coleslaw which was weird and unpleasant and tasted only of raw onion.
Will definitely be coming back for the fish fry.

Overall we had a good experience here, with a few things that kept it from being great.

Everything we ordered tasted good and was well prepared but nothing really stood out as spectacular. It’s the kind of menu where you can find something enjoyable, but it may not be the place you’re raving about afterward.

The service was actually a highlight. The staff were friendly, attentive, and there seemed to be great teamwork among them. Multiple people checked on us and made sure we had what we needed, which we appreciated.

The atmosphere was also nice. It felt comfortable and pleasant for a dinner where you want to relax and have conversation.

The only downside was that the meal felt a bit rushed. At one point, my friend was asked three separate times if she was finished with her soup—even though she was clearly only about halfway through. Moments like that made it feel like the table was being turned quickly rather than allowing us to enjoy the meal and conversation at our own pace.

Overall, it’s a good restaurant with good food and great staff, but slowing the pacing a bit would really improve the experience.

You can tell that the colony house is under new ownership. Last night I ordered their $47 Beef Wellington medium. It came to the table and it looked like it was wrapped in wet toilet paper. The pastry shell That was supposed to be brown was slimy and gelatinous. Totally inedible. I scraped the disgusting gel off my little tiny steak I got to a freezer burned piece of meat that was so rare it looks like they didn’t even cook it they just ran it over a candle on the way to the plate. First of all the cook shouldn’t be working there if he would send something like that out to the table. It’s obvious they have their beef wellington made elsewhere Frozen and then reheated at their restaurant. That would account for the freezer burn. Number two the waitress having seen this disgusting thing on the plate should have taken it back to the kitchen instead of seeing if I would eat it. When I mentioned it to the waitress the manager gave me half off which I paid $24 for a piece of bread a salad and a potato. All around I found the staff to management totally incompetent. Don’t waste your money here you’ll be sorry you’d be better off stopping on the side of the highway and picking up roadkill.

Absolutely amazing experience! We came here for my partners birthday and had the most amazing drinks, lobster tail, chicken parmigiana, and dessert. Our server, Marybeth, was very kind, attentive, and friendly! She even realized it was my partners birthday and brought out a candle with dessert and sand happy birthday! Truly a great environment and a great place for a nice dinner and date night!

We have been going here for years. Not going back. Under new ownership. We had reservations for a table of 8 for a birthday party. We sat down right at 6pm. We were greated, read the specials and a drink order was taken pretty quickly. It took 40 minutes for them to arrive. Our server did stop by and take an appetizer order before the drinks arrived and they came out in a timely manor, but they missed the crab cakes… shortly after she brought us 2 orders of them. The escargot had super hard biscuits on top of them which were supposed to be flakey. At this point it was 730pm and every thing went even further down hill, and fast. All of our soups were served cool, maybe warm at best. One of us accepted it to be microwaved, but the rest were offered to take it to go. Not to mention most of us ordered the “Cream of potatoe soup with Prime rib” and it came out as cold salty vegetable brothe soup with chucks of meat. 6 of the 8 of us had issues with the main course too. My Chicken flourentine was so over cooked I sent it back and at this point we had been here for over 2.5 hours and I didnt want it remade. My husband’s and brothers lobster was flat out cold and it is not served with drawn butter. It was a weird tasting oil served over the candle. Pathetic to charge these prices the they are now and not even offer real butter with their seafood. This place has been my favorite local supper club for over 20 years. But it is not the same anymore. The owner kept walking past the table, but never addressed us, apologized or took action to correct the situation. Our server brought the checks. She had taken my meal off the bill but still charged me for the cold soup to go, and my tiny salad, $12. The birthday girl was given one drink on the house for the inconvenience of everything. We will never be back with these prices and this owner. I hope someone helps him before he destroys the Colony house competely.

This might be the best restaurant I have ever been to. Starting with the liver pate, bread, and fresh veggies as a first course. Liver pate was phenomenal and paired with the veggies, created the perfect starter. We had the artichoke dip which was perfectly cheesy and gooey. Prime rib special was to die for and the chicken piccata was exceptional. Our server, Erin, was one of the kindest, down to earth, and attentive server I have ever had. This was addition to the staff constantly walking the floor, seeing where they’re needed. As someone who has worked as a server, it was a delight to have such good service. At the end, they even package up your leftovers for you! In summary, this is a must eat restaurant. From the utmost attentive staff and the fine dining, this was one of the best culinary experiences my partner and I have ever had. It would’ve our pleasure to dine here again.

I’ve have been to The Colony House twice. Both times the meals have been some of the best meals in my life. Incredibly good food. The upstairs traditional supper club style with a bar off to the side. The basement portion is more intimate with a smaller side bar. The servers did a great job even though it was extremely busy both times. I will be back. Reservations highly recommended. Quite loud upstairs. Downstairs was much quieter.
