Ate there three times. I gave service a five-star but only because our first waiter was great. The waitress the third time was rude. I could drink their sweet tea by the gallon!

Only one person waiting on a large breakfast crowd. She was cooking and serving everyone. With that consideration, the service was excellent. It just took a bit of a wait for her to get to everyone.

Had breakfast. I got the waffle with bacon, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. It was a pretty good breakfast but kind of on the plain side. The restaurant also doesnt have butter so we had to use a whipped oil mixture by land o lakes. Overall the food was good and worth the money but they would benefit by adding some value added things like real butter.

This was my first visit to the Colonial Room Restaurant. We got there about 8;45 am and wondered if it was open because it looked dark inside, but it was. The place was devoid of customers, except for one other couple, the whole time we were there.
The atmosphere was peaceful. The decor reminded me of Cracker Barrel and was interesting to look at. There is plenty of seating, and a gift shop with necessities for travelers (it’s by a motel), Hatfield and McCoy Trail T-shirts, a large variety of scented candle wax, purses and other souvenirs and gift items.
The three ladies working were friendly and helpful and the rest rooms (men’s, anyway) was clean.
I got a bacon and sausage omelet with potatoes and toast. They didn’t have wheat bread, so I had to get white toast. The omelet was very good and cooked well. The potatoes were ok, but could have been seasoned to be better. The coffee was good and kept flowing!

This is one step above the average eatery in this area. Everything we ate, where, country fried steak, mashed potatoes, BLT, all were made fresh. Country cooking for sure. Outstanding hush puppies. We ate too much to try dessert, but we will return to check out more menu items.

Half of us (6 people) enjoyed our meal. Half did not. Biscuits and gravy didn’t seem to be enjoyed amongst my group. I got the steak and eggs. I enjoyed my meal. Btw steak and eggs are not on the menu.
