MADAN on his first day was polite and hospitable. Asking for the taste and if any changes needed to be made. Overall, it is a small upscale restaurant in Ooty serving north indian taste. The tables were well set. One can request for hot water as it is readily available. We ordered tava chicken and chicken kadai amongst 4 of us and found it to be precisely sufficient. Salt was on the lower side. Ordering Ample parking space for 20 odd cars. While the order is given you can spend time clicking pics around the small garden in front.

One of the best places to stay. The staffs are hard working and they put customer satisfaction above all. Very clean and well maintained. The food is the highlight of this place, it has one of the best Indian and Italian dishes. Must try. It is even pet friendly

Excellent food with great service. We were visiting Ooty and wanted to try some good food. We ordered Malai Broccoli, Paneer kitchen & butter chicken and it was all delicious. The ending with “warm apple crumble with Ice cream” was the cherry on the cake . Thank you, Colonel’s kitchen !

Though we sat at colonels kitchen we ordered from their blooming garden continental restaurant (as the seating there was full)
Delicious fresh food, excellent presentation skills, very courteous staff, super clean place. It’s a part of a heritage hotel and I m sure they will soon become one of the finest places to dine and stay in Ooty

Not sure when was the last time I gave 1 star. This restaurant deserves it 100%. After seeing all the hype in reviews and photos, we went for lunch. Each item is 500 plus but worth nothing. The breakfast we had today morning at a road side shop for 120 RS (for 3 of is) is worth 100 times more. Please go through my reviews and trust me. If you are a food lover, avoid this place. We gave a strong feedback to the staff, none of whom can speak the local language (at least they spoke English). They are cooking south indian local food without even knowing anything about it. Meaning they dont know the speciality a particular recipe. The only good thing was the place looks good and there is parking.

Great ambiance and service.

The food was good.
I recommend the steak, which is very flavourful. The steak was well done (you’ll probably have to request if you want it medium rare)

The burger patty was delicious. The rest, however, was meh and came with delicious potato wedges.

The grilled garlic and lemon fish were good, too. The sides could have been a little more.

The fish and chips came with regular processed french fries, which was a little disappointing considering the price point. I would would have preferred some better “chips”

Will definitely go once more to try the other dishes.

Came for the soup, stayed for the feast! Loved the foods so much last night, we marched right back for lunch today. The Mutton Sukka, Kongu Biryani, and Chicken Stew were all top-notch—flavor-packed and super satisfying. Staff (Karhikeyan, Vijay) were lovely, and the ambience made us want to linger. Definitely a place worth coming back to (again and again)!

No idea if the people saying the place was good were paid or are just trying to be nice. Seating is tiny, cutlery was cute , ambience is below average. Staff is not good at all.. taking forever to put in an order. You order one thing , and 10 mins later they will come and say it is out of stock. So limited menu. Soup we ordered , both were bland and one tasted pungent.. started veg and non veg were also below average. Only good thing was the paneer butter masala.. that’s all. Hefty bill, slow staff, tissues i asked for took 30 mins to show up after asking multiple times.. i see that this hotel is literally replying to all honest reviews with “we have no record of you” to brush off taking responsibility but the fact that your food sucks is reality and you guys should work on it.

ALL SHOW NO SUBSTANCE. Went for lunch chicken was uncooked even after making us wait for 20 min. Malabar parotta was nowhere close to malabar parotta. They have separate kitchen for indian food but the Taste was way below average. Billing done was wrong. Added extra item in the bill. GST was charged on the higher side. Not recommended.
