The food was really good. I’ve been looking forward to going. The kids that worked there were being silly. My husband found a plastic sheet of some sort on the cheese with the first bite of his chili burger. Maybe they could’ve paid closer attention.

I was very excited to see this place open and I’ve accidentally come a couple of times before they were open. I’ve only been once so far and here’s what I’ve taken away from my visit. The lines can be long at times so don’t always expect to be in and out quick. The parking lot area is also a bit tight and some people think it’s a good idea to block the lane beside the drive thru lane unfortunately. The staff were friendly and were working as best as they could to get the orders out quickly so I can’t fault them for wait times. The only thing that surprised me was the small size of the cheeseburger. It’s about the same size as the McDonald’s value cheeseburger but does taste much better in my opinion. The fries weren’t anything crazy and rather basic but still not bad. It wasn’t expensive at all but in my opinion, for the same price you can probably get better at McDonald’s or Burger King. I like to support local businesses so I don’t mind paying more but this is something to keep in mind.

This was my first time eating at a colonel Dixie and I have to say I love their cheeseburgers better than McDonald’s little cheeseburgers. They’re fries were cooked to perfection even so much so I went back and got a second helping of fries but this time with chili and cheese. Very consistent when cooking good products and good food. I’m so glad there’s a place like this and I can’t wait to go back.
Edit 4/16/22:
I went to Col. Dixie’s around the first of the month. Prices on the menu said the same however when the girl rang me up it was almost double the price as last time. When I asked her why she just started at me like I was an alien or something and said it was because of chili cheese fries. I had been eating there (yes I get the same thing everytime) a couple times a month and never had it cost this much. Two Cheeseburgers with chili cheese fries shouldn’t be almost $20. The drink machine was broken so we had 2 choices, lemonade or tea. Burger was burnt. Chili didn’t taste as good as usual. Fries were only a small portion (less than a handful) in a small hot dog box. It was a horrible experience. Both me and my roommate said we are done cause all it takes is one bad experience to ruin a place forever. I’d rather spend my money other places and get the food I ordered for a price I know it will be instead of surprised by a price hike, smaller portions, and no sodas.
Edit 6/5/22:
I went to Colonel Dixie’s today because it said under New Management and I wanted to see if it had changed at all since my last horrible experience. I expected the same thing that happened on April 16th. I was pleasantly surprised when my prices went back to normal, the service was friendly, my burgers and fries were as close to perfection as a colonel Dixie can offer. I was so happy. Colonel Dixie is back. Under new ownership I am hoping the customers will return to them because they are definitely they’re old self again. Please give them a chance again. The previous owners were bad people who didn’t pay their employees and ran the business almost into the ground. This new ownership seems to have restored Colonel Dixie back to its Glory and adding new menu items such as the baked potatoes and soon to come milkshakes. You’ll be pleasantly surprised if you go back. I was. My favorite place has been resurrected thank you to the new owners for not letting Colonel Dixie die.

My dad and I had lunch at the Moffet Road restaurant on 3/13. The young lady taking our orders was very polite and friendly. We ordered 2 giant hamburgers with fries and drinks. We were disappointed once we took a bite of our burgers. They were cold and the bread was stale. The fries were warm. Our drinks were fine … tea and a coke. We should have sent them back, but we were hungry and had to get back to work. We wish this store much success! Colonel Dixie has been around a long time. We felt like it was important for us to let you know because you can’t fix what you are not aware of.

There was a long line, but I understand. we’ve all been anticipating the opening. The people working were friendly and cheerful ,even with the overwhelming amount of customers. The food sadly did not meet expectations. Maybe they’ll get better. The old Richee’s was amazing . updating this review after 3 months tried it again and am happy that the food is much better now.

I’ve been eating here once a week since they opened. The lines have been crazy long but that’s not their fault. My work is 1/4 mile from here and when I get there my food is cold. Fortunately, I have a microwave and 10 second cook my Dixie Dog is perfect. I shouldn’t have to do that but it’s ok. Hopefully they get it on track because their food has really good flavor.

5 stars for a few reasons.
No, it’s not a 5-star restaurant. It’s better. It’s like the original Wards. It’s the best ballpark food you’ve ever had. It’s a real hamburger, with real french fries. I got 3 kids’ meals, a chili-cheese-burger with jalapenos and bacon, and a standard cheese-burger for my wife. All with delicious, real, sweet tea.
Colonel Dixie is a rare find these days. Real food, real people, great service. Nothing more.
Get the chili-cheese-burger, add jalapenos and bacon. You can thank me later.

There seems to be a lot of traffic there since they opened so I thought I’d give it a chance. The staff seemed friendly. I ordered a giant cheeseburger. It was about the same size as a whopper but less meat. Didn’t really hit the spot. It’s my first experience with colonel Dixie, maybe they’re better known for something else

I have been waiting for them to open with excitement. Today was my first and last visit. I ordered a hot dog and got a hamburger. I also ordered a hamburger and fries that were cold when I pulled them out of the bag. I also ordered potato salad that came frozen. When I told them that my order was wrong they were very rude and told me I would have to go thru the line again. I was not sitting in line another 30 minutes for this mess. Customer service is not high on their priority list, nor is food quality. I will never go back.

Went here for the first time tonight. We ordered two of the giant chili cheese burgers, doubles. The menu says $7.49 each. When we were at the speaker the total was $16 something. When we got to the window the total was almost $21. The girl at the window argued argues that the total was right, there’s no way possible the total was right. When I asked for the receipt to look, it doesn’t show you what you were charged for. They weren’t friendly. Customer service wasn’t great at all. We went ahead and got the burgers, when I should have said never mind, but I don’t like being a pain. The burgers are small, normal size burger. They put onions, when we asked for no onions. They were out of fries, which is understandable, so no big deal. The food wasn’t great, I had such high hopes for this place, we’ve been waiting to go for months. The chili on the burger is actually good, but the burger Pattie’s are hard and burnt, and small. If you want a chili cheese burger just drive to Mississippi and go to wards, or drive to citronelle and go to bertilles. I’m so sad.
