This location is mostly for take-out, so its small but they do not skimp on the flavor! The food definitely delivers and good sized portions too! The meatloaf was good but the smothered chicken was my favorite–tender, tasty and full of flavor. And of course I had to try the collard greens! Everything tasted fresh and homemade. If you’re looking for good soul food, this is worth the stop! They also fry porkchops and chicken to order…

Ordered smothered chicken, cabbage, and Mac & cheese with cornbread The price 17.27…a ridiculous price point for 1 chicken breast with 2 drummettes. With a coupon at a major chain, I could get an 8 piece. This ain’t organic free range chicken its a regular bird. Now taste…definitely no cheese flavor in the Mac and cheese…it tasted like seasoned noodles with eggs and butter, you can see cheese is visibly on the dish…but can’t taste it. Chef how dare you skip on the real cheese at this price point. The cabbage was cooked well, tender but not mushy with a tasty seasoned flavor. The smothered chicken was definitely fried not
baked prior to smothering. Sooo know before you go. The gravy had a nice flavor as well which complimented the near dry breast which is typical for that part of the bird. The cornbread was moist and sweet but not too sweet like Jiffy. Definitely a get it to go atmosphere…only 1 or 2 small tables for dining. The service was nice but I had to ask for the price of everything because no prices of the items they were selling was listed….WHYYYY…its giving I know my prices are marked up around 500%…so I’d rather you look at the food and be tempted before you know how much it will cost. At this price point never again…praise the Lamb I can cook…but I am willing to pay for convenience. However I hate feeling like my wallet was taken advantage of when I look at the receipt. It’s a meat and 2 veg cafeteria like place…I suggest they price accordingly. Would probably see more profit in the long run because the foot volume and repeat customers would increase. Closer to my house I can get a 2 piece with 2 veggies in a similar styled place for 11.99 and the food taste better…and before you comment…the place near my home isn’t open on the weekend…otherwise…..yeah you know

The food was okay but the Mac and cheese was dried out, string beans looked over cooked. The best thing were the collard greens. I only purchased a vegetable plate. The food didn’t look anything like the pictures that I saw online.

When I first came here the food was so good. It reminded me of my mama’s cooking. The next time I had it, the food was okay, but not as good as the first time. Now this last time I had it, the food was good. But I ain’t going to lie, the collard greens tasted a little dirty. One thing about collard greens is, you really have to wash them thoroughly. At least three or four times to get them clean. Otherwise, they have dirt and bugs all in them. They tasted like they weren’t cleaned good. I was upset about that. Plus they did not have all the things they usually have. So it was very little to choose from on the menu. I’m really rooting for this place though. I would probably go back. I Just won’t get the collards again.

A small selection of premade dishes, but everything was excellent! Hardly any room for sit-down, so you may have to opt for take-out.
A tiny spot, but lots of heart.

Best soul food in the area. Cooked right, spiced right, reminds me of home. It’s becoming a habit for me.
