There were no customers even at 1 p.m. on a Saturday. The food actually tasted decent, but the interior decor was really unimpressive. The $42 Wagyu fried rice only had a few pieces of beef, which feels like a rip-off at that price. Many of the dishes are overpriced.

Food was flavorful and presented very well. Our favorite was the fried shimeji mushroom. So tasty! The area was nice and quiet, lots of parking spaces. The place was clean and the servers were all very attentive and friendly. It was great restaurant all in all but it was a bit pricey for me, we actually ordered some of the cheapest items. Some of the items actually shocked me how expensive it was. I’m not from the area so maybe it’s regularly priced for Pasadena?

A modern Cantonese restaurant and an absolute hidden gem! Loved everything about my experience here. The patio is so cute and perfect for a nice dinner or date night. All the food is finely prepared and presented. There’s a bit of a fusion vibe, but really all the food whether modern or classic canto are excellent!

We like the restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The service is really attentive and friendly. I loved the Jasmine tea, very fragrance and good. Most of the dishes were delicious except the Cha Sui was too lean and dry. The lamb chop was cooked perfectly. The shrimp paste with chicken skin has a nice texture, very bouncy. The batter of the fried oysters was crispy and thin, good contrast with the juicy oysters. The portion is not big, so you can order more variety of dishes. It’s a good place to bring out of town visitors and celebrate special occasions.

This place is a must-try! The Honey Glazed Crispy Whole Shrimp is absolutely wonderful! The shrimps are impressively big and fresh, with a perfectly crispy coating that gives way to juicy, tender meat. Every bite is a delightful balance of sweetness and savory crunch.

The Black Pepper Diced Beef is another standout—tender, flavorful, and coated in a rich, peppery sauce that packs just the right amount of heat.

The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for family gatherings or even a cozy date night. Plus, the free parking is a huge bonus!

Hidden gem in Pasadena! Colette offers beautifully presented, flavorful Cantonese fusion dishes in a cozy, elegant setting. The Black Truffle Chicken Salad was refreshing and aromatic, and the sizzling Black Pepper Beef was perfectly tender. Great service, spacious free parking, and perfect for date nights or family dinners. Highly recommend!

First time eating here. The waiters were very attentive. The food was very good, our favorite was the seafood soup and the egg with pumpkin inside. Calamari was also good. Everything was very filling. I’ll definitely go back again.

There are only a handful of upscale Chinese restaurants in SGV, and even fewer that do things exceptionally well – Colette falls into this category. The best way to experience this restaurant is to come in a large group with your family/friends and try more of the menu.

We loved the modern, cleaner take on Cantonese cuisine. The food was less salty, less oily, and much lighter (no excessive cornstarch in sauces) than traditional Chinese dishes. My picky Cantonese family enjoyed it greatly!

Like most Cantonese restaurants, you can request to have certain dishes cooked a different way based on your preferences, which is what we did for the vegetables and the lobster dish.

Dishes are listed in order of preference:

Must haves:
– Black Truffle Chicken: amazing flavor from the truffle, chicken was juicy
– Lobster with crispy rice noodles: the crispy rice noodles absorbed the addictive lobster sauce!
– Crispy chicken with shrimp paste (half order): one of their signature dishes that’s more of a shrimp dish than chicken. Half order was already a LOT.
– Chayote with minced pork: great veggie to have

Great dishes, order if hungry:
– Curry beef brisket: SOO tender and it also came with many pieces of tendon which I love!
– Kurabota Char Siu: nice and fatty with great flavor
– Luffa vegetable: we asked for it to be stir fried with garlic (different from how it’s listed on the menu)

Good, but not must haves:
– Wagyu fried rice
– Salted egg yolk pumpkin
– Chicken wings: the kids loved this

Don’t recommend:
– Seafood Laksa Spaghetti: the least Cantonese and most random menu item LOL. It had decent heat to it but really paled in comparison to the rest of the meal. Depth of spices + flavor wasn’t there, and I prefer a bouncier noodle over a wide fettuccine.
– Pork ribs: the quality of the pork ribs wasn’t that good. I think we were expecting something similar to DTF but the sweetness, stickiness, and sharpness (from vinegar) wasn’t there. Ribs might be better if cut into smaller pieces

I can see this restaurant being on the rotation for my family! I think the odd location delayed our visit for a while, and I regret not coming sooner. We ate a LOT during dinner and had leftovers, but this was one of those meals where we felt quite good afterwards

Food here was amazing. They were so friendly and quick and were exceptionally welcoming when we brought three dogs. I especially loved the sizzling beef and the orange chicken, but pretty much everything was delicious. A definite win.

Got some basic dishes including garlic broccoli and beef chow fun and they were good. But the better and what really stood out was the crispy stuffed chicken, the black truffle mushroom noodles and fried sticky rice. Every dish has something familiar with it but yet something else that elevates the flavor and makes it slightly different. And better. Looking forward to returning and trying other dishes.
