Cold Friends is the result of years and years of industry work by Chefs Gabriel Knecht and Thomas Bango, aiming to elevate Street Food and Fast Casual fare, while also empowering their community and employees. Cold Friends’ staff is 75% chefs in active recovery, 90% staff that has overcome homelessness, and 50% of the staff had zero prior cooking experience. The results have been formidable – Cold Friends Kitchen gained city wide recognition as a Top Ten Best New Restaurant, regularly in the conversation for Best Burger in the city, and our Famous Pork Belly Bites have won Best Bites. I can confidently say that Cold Friend Burgers blows every burger place within at least a 200-mile radius completely out of the water. We drove over two hours just to try it, and it exceeded every expectation.
The portions were massive, the fries were perfectly fresh, and the mac and cheese was absolutely otherworldly. Every bite tasted like it was made with genuine care and intention. You can tell the chef cooks with real love and passion, and that energy comes through in the food.
This wasn’t just a good meal — it was an experience. If you’re even remotely close to this place, it is 1000% worth the trip.

Their truck was at the Winter Warmer at The Pennsylvanian last night. Was so excited to try them again having been introduced to them at the Best Dish event at the casino. My wife and I split the pork belly and kimchi quesadilla and curry poutine fries. Absolutely delicious. The guy taking the orders was super friendly. The truck and their people have a great vibe and put out the best food.

The Gochujang Honey Mustard, Elote, and Alabama White BBQ were some of my favorites! Ever since my nephew tried the double smash burger at Baconfest (& it looked so frickin good), I had to try this place. I had the perfect circle, the burger was perfection & so was the burger sauce. My BF got the hot shot. He said it was just the right amount of spice. Since it’s on Jane St, parking is much easier to find. I loved this place so much, I went back the next day!
