Upscale tavern with eclectic American fare & wine amid the brick walls of a former bottling company.

Fantastic experience from beginning to end! We had a Saturday reservation at 630p. There was no parking available in their lot so we parked in the adjacent paid lot. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. I started with a glass of the Fableist Cabernet, which was excellent, and a healthy pour. We were brought a loaf of fresh, out of the oven bread, with oil and Parmesan for dipping. For an appetizer, we selected the Gnocchi Caprese from the specials menu. It absolutely phenomenal, and pillowy soft. I moved on to the Roasted Beet Salad, in which all the ingredients were perfectly balanced. For my entree, I chose the Blackened Mahi and Shrimp. Another home run! My table mate ordered the BBQ Glazed Salmon, which I sampled and to no surprise, it was also delicious. Dessert was the Chocolate Torte, which was smooth and creamy and decadent! The Toffee Cheesecake looked devine. This was my first time at Cola’s, but definitely won’t be the last. The food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal out!

Food-wise, this place was solid overall. The calamari portion was impressively generous, and the crispy flounder was a standout. Get the sauce on the side so it stays crispy. The one miss was the side of linguini and vegetables, which felt like an afterthought: overcooked noodles with equally overcooked roasted veggies.
On the upside, the short ribs were very good, and the filet mignon was also excellent.
Service was polite and friendly, but our server didn’t seem to know much about the menu, including the basics about the specials.
The biggest frustration was before we even arrived—I tried calling multiple times to ask about parking and got a busy signal every time. When I mentioned it to the host at check-in, she just shrugged and said, “We get a lot of calls,” which came off pretty dismissive. It’s 2025; a restaurant really shouldn’t have a single phone line that stays busy.
Overall, good food with a few service hiccups, but room for improvement on the customer experience side.

I really enjoyed the food here. I’m a big fan of savory grits and their shrimp and grits did not miss!
For a place that used to be an RC Cola bottling factory I would assume RC Cola would be an option as a nod and homage to its history.
Nevertheless, I would come back.
I felt the customer service by the servers could have been better. The vibe was a bit off, I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I’ll chop it up to it being a one off situation. The hostess was very welcoming.
If you’re dining alone, sitting at the bar is your best option as tables fill up FAST, for good reason, the food is great!
The bathroom was very clean.

Hands down the best dining experience in the city of Columbia. We started off with the raspberry Brie and the pimento cheese board. The grouper, flounder, mahi mahi, and the braised beef are absolutely to die for and I would come back and eat every single one of them. Came for the wife’s birthday and it’s safe to say she’s very happy. Our server was Belle and she was prompt and caring. We will be back again!

Cola has such a welcoming, elevated vibe the kind of spot that feels both cozy and refined. My partner and I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and the Braised Beef, and both dishes were incredible. The ribeye was rich and buttery, perfectly seasoned with herbs, and paired with silky mashed potatoes and crisp asparagus. I went with the braised beef tender, slightly sweet, and served with creamy grits and roasted sweet potatoes that balanced the flavors beautifully.
The service was warm and attentive, and the presentation made everything feel special. My only small note: the cocktails were a bit too sweet for our taste. Otherwise, an absolutely lovely dining experience that we’ll definitely return for!

Cola’s remains my family’s favorite dining spot at downtown Columbia! And the food tonight was amazing as always, and I am super glad I chose them for my last dinner in SC.
The shrimp & risotto cake appetizer was so creamy and the Brie & raspberry fondue was fantastic as well! For entrees, we got the shrimp and grits and braised beef, both were absolutely delicious; even as someone who doesn’t like seafood, the trout was pretty good and the presentation was on point.
As for dessert, I highly recommend the truffle cheesecake and crème brûlée, their chocolate dessert was also pretty awesome.
One thing to watch out is to make sure that you mark “prefer a booth” on your reservation, as when we requested one upon arrival they didn’t have any available (a bit strange because they were only 30% occupied at 6pm), so if you would like one, request it early! Service was pretty good as well and our server was very professional.
We will be back!

Dined here for our anniversary dinner on Friday night. Our server for the evening was Greg and he was exceptional! He shared his favorites on the menu as well as the specials of the day. We started with appetizers and had the pear salad and also the shrimp and grit cake. Both were plentiful and beautifully presented. For our entrees we chose the Mahi & shrimp from the menu and the halibut & shrimp from the specials of the day. Both dishes were perfectly cooked, especially the shrimp, and the portions were also plentiful. We really appreciated that Greg was extremely accommodating when we asked for some slight changes in a few of our menu choices. He was attentive during the meal and really made our anniversary dining experience special. Thank you, Greg and Cola, for a great evening!

This American restaurant is located slightly off the main route and could be overlooked if you’re wandering around downtown looking for a place to eat.
Good: portions are well sized. One of the few places I’ve been where I felt full when I was done. For $40 I actually felt like I got am ample portion. Some dishes were well flavored – braised beef, slightly over seasoned — spice rubbed chicken, and perhaps lacking in flavor—pork chop. The collards were slightly sweet and seasoned w onion and bacon. Mac and cheese was creamy and a true comfort food feel. Hamburger was filling and cooked to order. Would not order the calamari— all breading. The dipping sauces were good but I couldn’t find any actual squid.
Drinks—ordered mixed drinks which were not well balanced and then switched to beer. Although reasonably priced, the vanilla bourbon old fashion was not something I enjoyed.
Service was superb. The restaurant was relatively busy but the food came out quickly and hot. Katie G was attentive, friendly, gave good recommendations.
Atmosphere—cute, open, able to carry on a conversation, clean, not stuffy, not high end dining but comfortable for a date or family eating.
All in all—good experience. Menu has something to please every taste. Would not necessarily return on my own but wouldn’t turn down a dinner here if invited.
