Excellent venue in Pittsburgh’s strip district. One stop shopping for a breakfast coffee and dessert this morning. The works (greens, egg, sausage, beans and potatoes) was excellent as was the cappuccino and almond melle. Limited interior standing tables and counters and in addition to outside tables. We visited off peak hours so as to not encounter space issue.

Great grab and go classic spot with some of the best pizza in Pittsburgh! $5 a slice, line moves fast so you’re in and out, and a few tables outside to quickly much it down. It’s a classic and definitely a must try if you’re visiting the Strip!

I have to come here every time I get coffee at La Prima. It probably helps that it is essentially the same store. I always try to try new things, but my two most popular order here are the cannolis and the sfogliatelle. The cannolis are always so fresh, and the feeling is so delicious. This place who is warmth and hospitality. it almost feels like I’m back in Napoli and getting these pastries from a cafe there.

So, we came here because a local artist said, “You HAVE to go get a Lady Luck.” We didn’t even know what that was, so we walked in and asked the super nice girl at the front. And then… out comes this gorgeous, magical cone of cream and puffy pastry.

It was like if a beignet and a cloud had a baby, and then covered it in snow made of powdered sugar! We were wearing half of it on our faces, and it was AWESOME.

Then they had these teeny tiny Sfogliatelle. I had never tried one before, but now I’m ruined forever, because every single one I have after this will have to live up to the flakiest, most delicious cream-filled bite of happiness ever.

I love pastries, and I love Colangelo’s!

Great little bakery and pizzeria in the heart of Pittsburghs strip district! Delicious foods, great and friendly service! Wish Cleveland had something like this! The Torta Rustica!!!!! Will change your thoughts on what breakfast should be like!

Phew this pizza goes HARD AS HELL. It’s like…just perfect. $4.50 for a great warm slice as you walk around the strip. Divine red sauce, crust that’s light and cracks a tiny bit in your mouth, and this crazy melted cheese sensation. Super highly recommend going here ASAP.

A nice 3 stars for the pizza. It was nice and fine just not spectacular. I prob won’t do it again

Simple, descent ingredients. Crust had a crunch and also chew. Sauce was decently flavored. Cheese wasn’t standout but fine

Sometimes I think the strip has lost a general level of quality. I think there are still great highly refined spots, but stuff seems a little cheapened. While this particular place doesn’t feel cheap per se, they just aren’t doing top tier stuff.

It’s a FOODIE’S FIND OF AN AUTHENTIC ITALIAN BAKERY , a rarity in Pittsburgh despite many that claim to be one.

This is mainly a takeaway counter with a small outside area, possible only on good weather.

The REAL TREASURES ARE THE BAKED SAVORIES AND DOLCES.

– The Torta Rustica, both the vegetarian and meat , is as Italian as it gets. They bring fond memories of Napoli and Southern Italy.

– The Sfogliatella is on the spot of its Santa Rosa origin . The laminations are very well executed, and the creamy filling has very muted sweetness, the two measures of mastery of a culinary craft of this very iconic Italian dolce. —- simply WOW.

– Their Cannoli, chocolate and orange pistachio, are classic Sicilian . Crispy tubes, crunchy choc chips and pistachio all married together with the silken creamy filling of very muted sweetness
…. Very much the opposite of the common overly sweet horrible americanized imitation.

Service is outstanding.

When you are in the strip and need a slice, don’t think twice. Fabulous pizza by the slice to mix and march. And to compliment your meal, great selection of Italian pastries. Get a coffee by directly entering Prima.
