Actually surprised by how good the coffee was.
There is not a lot of seating here. There’s one table in the coffee shop and a bar with tall bar stools and the option only to sit next to people, not across from. There are two tables (each with two chairs) just outside the coffee shop in the Shell station convenience store.
There are also a couple of tables with chairs outside, but there was absolutely no shade out there when my friend and I arrived a little after 9am. When we left at almost 11am, there was still no shade in the outdoor seating area and had not been any during any part of our visit. We would have been happy to sit outside had there been some shade.
The worker was great! She was friendly and smiled a lot.
My friend and I had regular coffee, which tasted good, not burnt or bitter. My friend had a cheese Danish, and I had a bagel. My bagel was ok, nothing special. My friend did not comment on her pastry.
This isn’t a great coffee shop for hanging out, mostly because it’s very small. Also, you have to go into the Shell station convenience store to get to this coffee shop. It does have a drive up window, if you want to get your order to go.
The guy behind the counter was super chill —probably in his 40s, with glasses and gauges in his ears. He was the only one working, but you wouldn’t have guessed that! He handled everyone with such ease, even when a bunch of high school kids came in for drinks and snacks, plus a car waiting in the drive-thru. This guy is a total pro! He was quick and friendly, which just added to the great vibe.
And let me tell you, that doppio espresso was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m really not exaggerating! The flavors were perfectly balanced—no scorching or watery mess at all. It was just a delightful little drink! Shoutout to him for making such a fantastic brew! I can’t help but wish there was a place like this in El Paso because I’m feeling a little bummed that this hidden gem isn’t closer! If anyone is ever driving by T or C, I recommend stopping by for a great drink.
