Cozy spot serving coffee & light fare for breakfast & lunch in warm digs with an outdoor patio.

I rarely leave a bad review, but this one was necessary.
I came here for a simple breakfast…just eggs and a side, and was shocked to find out their eggs aren’t even fresh. They cook frozen sunny-side-up eggs only, and they taste like water. The fruit cup? It’s a tiny ramekin with maybe four or five pieces of fruit for $6.
The place was clearly understaffed. It took a long time just to get menus (we had to go up to the front ourselves), and when it came time to pay, we waited so long that we eventually went up to the bar to check out.
When we tried to politely share feedback, the response was, “I don’t make the menu.” We clarified we weren’t upset, just hoping our feedback could be passed along, but we got the same dismissive reply again.
Overall, it was just a bad experience from start to finish. Lesson learned, there are plenty of better breakfast spots nearby that actually serve fresh food and care about their customers. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Oh man! This place is incredible. I had a pastrami on rye, and it was melty, crispy, and delicious! The mac and cheese was homemade and phenomenal! The service was kind and attentive. Excellent atmosphere – I’ll be back, for sure!

We eat at Cody’s once a month. Their breakfast sandwiches are always excellent. Today we had asparagus quiche & bacon & mushroom quiche with a side of clam chowder. Both quiches were very salty with little other taste and the soup was heart but too watery. We were very disappointed today.

Wow. Such a great spot to relax and enjoy the conversation with the staff. The food was excellent, the Cobb Salad was fresh and the Tomato Basil soup was hot, along with the Grilled Cheese sandwich was amazing.
If you are in Mount Dora, you must stop in and meet the folks inside.

I am 49 years old and have never left a poor review. Today was the 2nd time I got run out at 1:45 in the afternoon. The sign says they are open and posted operating hours are until 2:00. Clearly they close sometime in the 1:00 hour. I’ve been looking for a favorite place to replace the One Flight Up restaurant that closed a while back. Well this isn’t it! They could care less about their customers. You should have seen her face when she noticed I sat down at roughly 1:50. I don’t know if they are afraid of work or afraid of paying their people. It’s a cute place but I couldn’t tell you how the food is. I was looking for good food and a small town feel and this isn’t it. If this continues it won’t last. Maybe something that stays open longer to serve the Community will take its place. I learned a long time ago to do it right or don’t do it at all and half hearted commitment shows worse than anything. There are lessons to learn here! The Salted Fry is great and bus at 2:40pm. Mount Dora has a lot of options!

The crustless farmer’s quiche was delicious! I also enjoyed the cappuccino. There were several quiche options along with many other menu choices. Fast and friendly service too! A 5+ in my book!

Had high hopes especially since it said fresh but unfortunately was a huge disappointment.
Got an everything bagel with an egg and provolone, came out to $9. Wouldn’t have minded if it actually tasted fresh but instead it tasted like any microwave egg and cheese on a bagel you get at any one of these fast food coffee shops staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice but the food wasn’t worth coming back. Would not recommend and do not see myself returning. They should not advertise food is fresh when it clearly is not made fresh to order.

Delicious lovely outdoor patio brunch!! We loved the dairy free vegetarian sandwich Lighter Side with fresh veg on it. Fruit cup was very fresh and sweet seasonal selection. Server very kind helpful. Would definitely recommend and go back. No Hashbrown or fried egg type choices but cafe fare that looked very good! Nice menu options. Fresh bakery items! We had a white chocolate raspberry scone. Coffee was available with Almond milk so that was huge win for our group! Cute decor in darling cafe in historic Mount Dora!

The food was delicious, when I got it. I ordered a sandwich to go and after I left with it, I realized it was not what I had ordered. Took it back and received no apology, only that my actual order would now “take a little while.” This when there were 3 women, apparently acting as only servers and cashiers, who were really just standing around doing nothing. One man in the kitchen working to make several orders, and the three women couldn’t help!? I waited at least 15-20 minutes for my correct order, again no “sorry” offered as I left. However, as I said, the food was great, thanks to the lone man in the kitchen.

I love Cody’s!! When we decided to go to Mount Dora for the day, we knew we had to come to Cody’s. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious! You could easily tell the locals were highly thought of by the staff because they knew their name and exactly what they wanted! Highly recommend getting a coffee, homemade quiche, or a salad with the delicious honey garlic dressing. I easily could’ve gone just for a delicious salad alone! Next time we’re passing through, I’ll be swinging by there again!
