Cody’s is a rooftop restaurant that offers splendid views of Pacific Ocean and amazing food to pair with it. We tried the veggie patty burger and veggie hash, they both turned out to be pretty good. They have plenty of outdoor seating with heaters which lets you enjoy the ocean views.

Decent views, but falls short on value for the price.
I visited for breakfast after watching the seals at La Jolla Cove in late December. The restaurant is located on the second floor and can be a bit tricky to find. The outdoor terrace was well-equipped with heaters, making the chilly morning air comfortable.
I ordered the Healthy Breakfast Salad. While the combination of spinach, zucchini, and poached eggs was okay, some of the greens lacked freshness, which was disappointing for a dish that relies on quality ingredients. The coffee also lacked the depth and richness I expect for a morning cup.
As for the view, you can see the ocean in the distance, but it wasn’t as spectacular as I had anticipated. It feels as though a large portion of the price is for the location rather than the quality of the food and service.
Overall, the experience didn’t quite justify the high price point. At this level, I would expect better ingredient selection and a more refined coffee experience. It was a standard experience, but I likely won’t be returning.

The place was very nice and our waiter was friendly. However, the food was average and due to that felt over priced. We had an app and three entrees: crab & artichoke dip, the burger, fish & chips, and the lobster roll. The fries were not crispy enough and were kind of cold like they’d been sitting there. The dip was amazing and probably the best part. The fish while delicate had almost no seasoning. Lobster roll was good. Overall, decent but would not return.

We had such a great experience at Cody’s! The vibe is super relaxed and welcoming, with a perfect beachy feel that matches La Jolla. The staff was really friendly and attentive. We had ordered a French toast to share and he ended up comping us because he had forgotten to put the order in initially.
The food was delicious — everything tasted fresh and flavorful. We especially loved the crab cakes benedict and lobster roll, and the portions were generous.
Definitely one of those spots where you can just kick back, enjoy amazing food, and soak in the San Diego atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My boyfriend surprised me with an impromptu date at Cody’s La Jolla on a post Labor Day Thursday, and we had such a great time I had to come post a review. I used to frequent their old location down the street after a morning in the ocean, but this was my first visit to their new reimagined and elevated dining experience. I ordered the highly recommended bouillabaisse for lunch while he opted for the bacon and cheddar omelette with griddled potatoes and sausage and a flat white coffee from their all day breakfast menu. Everything was fantastic. The bouillabaisse was full of perfectly cooked seafood and such a generous and portion that even after sharing the bread I took an extra meal’s worth home as leftovers. He thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast he had been craving for a while and noted the excellent coffee was served in the proper size cup. We had my dog with us, medium fifty pound size and well behaved. They were so kind to her, letting us choose a table where she’d have room to lay down out of the way, bringing her water along with ours, and while they no longer have a printed dog menu, they cooked up a plain burger patty for her that looked so good I would have stolen some if it didn’t arrive in a dog bowl. It was not too busy when we arrived but even with if all the tables were full there is plenty of space between them. Service was exceptional from the front of the house to our attentive and thoughtful servers. Thank you for a wonderful ocean view experience on this perfect weather day. We’ll definitely be back to try the crab chowder!

Had an awesome breakfast at Cody’s Place! The view is amazing, and the vibe is super chill. The staff were really friendly and made us feel right at home.
We tried the Surf & Turf, steak and eggs, pancakes and an omelette. Surf and turf including omelette was super tasty and cooked just right, pancake and steak Ang egg was just alright. You can tell they use fresh ingredients.
Perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed morning with great food and a view. Definitely coming back!

Cute little spot in La Jolla. This restaurant/ bar has a nice view of the ocean, they have large windows that open completely letting the breeze in the bar creating a great atmosphere especially during summer. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks, staff was friendly and knowledgeable of their cocktail menu.

My wife and I come into town every year in December for her birthday for four or five days. And this is the first place we always eat and continue to eat while we’re on our trip. Always great food great service great staff. And their espresso martini never disappoints

Cody’s hit in all levels, went for a breakfast birthday and did not regret it. The food was spot on, the service was super fast and friendly and the ambiance was super pleasant. Definitely recommend the French toast, it was one of the best I’ve ever had, and they even threw in a free glass of Champaign for my b day. Will definitely be back.

Love this place! The food is good and the views are great (if you can get a table outside). The services can be a little slow though. I went there on a week day for brunch with my mom and there was only one other table there but we still waited a while to get sat/get our order taken. It’s even worse when you go and it’s busy.
