@Public: Buyer beware! This review is intended to advise you of my experience last evening on 1/18/26 @ 7:20 pm. First this place is located around the corner of the main hall & tucked off to the side near soda machine & restroom. Which is why atmosphere is rated 2 because the vibe of the rest of the hall and from the football game between Chi & LA drifted to the seat location next to Codspeed. I met the cook first as he was peering over the window station, we made eye contact twice and I gave the head nod as a greeting which is odd since I’m a paying or potential paying customer. To his defense he probably assumed the cashier would be present but she was not there which indicated no communication between staff. The look on his face the entire time said he did not want to be there and as I began to tell him my order he head nodded with a slightly put off demeanor (as if I was a single knat at a family picnic) that I could order myself from the kisok. This should be apparent this is my 1st time. I apologized I guess because I figured I was impeeding on his day about 2hrs before close & I was the only customer. As I’m starting my order the cashier came back and she was pleasant and helpful assisting me with the kisok navigation and she showed a little care of food quality as I saw her apply a seasoning dusting on my roll to try and help with flavor. So because of her efforts she saved the rating for service or it would received no stars. Due to experience with cook & as I was leaving is why in good conscience can not be rated higher. I got my order and took my 1st bite & was immediately met with a strong fishy taste. I’m not a seasoned lobster eater so wasn’t quite sure but I can tell you my lobster roll from earlier that day at FRESHIES exceptional from what I would shortly learn from goggle. I took my 2nd bite & could not do it and had to search on Google how to tell if lobster is not good, it described this roll exactly. An ammonia or fishy smell & the meat mushy the only reason I couldn’t tell if the meat color reflected is because of the dim lighting. Nive fries. As I was leaving to throw my food away the cashier clearly saw that I did not come close to eating my roll, she did not address almost as if she’s seen this behavior before or was wondering if I would bring up to her. She did not thank me for coming and watched me leave which is why service is a 2 star rating. I’m positive that if kind of food i is coming out the kitchen then that walk in cooler is scary. How the owner/leadership responds to this will tell you everything else you need to know. If no response they do not care about your health, your experience, or how they present themselves to the public they just want your hard earned money. If blanket response then they are trying to save face but still the above is their mindset. If they do the right thing which is take real accountability see how they can do their best to make it right with a customer who supported their business monetarily, & take immediate action to train staff properly to ensure the safe welfare of their customers, their food quality, & the service. Which all represents the brand and mindset of CODSPEED.
@Ownership: Attitude reflects leadership, this is a training issue from top to bottom. How you treat staff is how they will treat your business & customers when you are not present, & that starts with caring about your staff, caring about the product you serve and caring about the consumer. Your brand. I get it fresh lobster is expensive , location & no on duty Mgr suggests that you are trying to conserve resources. If this is all true take the item off the menu b4 someone gets really sick or spend more to get quality lobster & charge more / train staff when & when not to serve. Train staff to communicate w/each other they’re a team & have ur staff back also. Train all staff how to greet & assist customer look 4 opp to seek cust feedback. People like finding hidden gems just bc loc is not ideal should not reflect on business.

We were on trip and stopped at Salt Lake City, UT. Found this food place. Ordered Clam Chowder and Lobster Reuben sandwich. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Recommend the place if you are in SLC.

This place was amazing, I had always wanted to try it but never had before. Just needed a little something to munch on before an activity. The fish was crunchy and good by itself but elevated to another level by the tartar sauce! Not traditional English fish but really good anyway. The fries, those are a true masterpiece! I don’t know what green thing they put on them but man did it make them super flavorful. Almost rival the truffle fries I love. Will definitely eat here again!

The food was delicious and very well made, everyone got something different but everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere is very welcoming and has a fun vibe. The person taking our order wasn’t very friendly, maybe she was having an off day but she acted like we were bothering her which was irritating considering how much we liked everything else about this place. I still recommend it though

Delicious! The sandwhich was phenomenal. The fish pieces were flaky, moist and flavorful and the breading was light, crisp and delicious. The garlic parmesan tots and fries were also very delicious. Definitely give this place a try!

I go here for the fish and chips. They are delicious. Kinda pricey though. The nice part is hallpass has some good options for most everyone in a group. The not so nice thing is if you want to talk to anyone in your group you need a megaphone. It’s loud inside. But I would go back.
