This is a cute little place that has been around for 32 years! We never knew about it until today!
We were so warmly welcomed by the staff, so friendly and so nice! The server got us chips and salsa before even we placed an order. The salsa was so fresh and delicious. When we asked about their vegan options, they said they could customize most of their menu and a lot of things like the rice, beans were already vegan. We ordered a veggie burrito and tofu burrito without the cheese. The burritos were delicious. The veggie burrito reminded me of the authentic food that I had in a small village in Mexico! We loved everything about it, until my last bite gave me a taste of animal fat, which means the food could have been cross-contaminated, so yes beware Vegans and vegetarians.

Place might seem a bit small but it has a bar section in the backside. They have a pool table might need better music though lol. The drinks were fantastic. I had a Cadillac margarita husband said it was strong sis said it was too strong I say if you taste the alcohol than is the best and believe me it was. Husband had a guava margarita it was good and with lots of taste. Food was really good had the sopes they are pretty big one was sheared beef and one shrimp the only thing I can said they need to make them a bit softer from the bottom as it was a bit hard to cut but overall it was still delicious. Husband had Chile relleno and enchiladas he said it tasted good had a taste of them and agree with him they were good. Sister had the beef sheared flautas said she recommended them taste as they were freshly done. They had lots of taste and were crunchy. Service was great. We all agree we shall come back!!

One of Long Beach’s little hidden gems! A tiny (so tiny you could miss it by blinking your eyes) local neighborhood restaurant, connected to the “Reno Room Bar.” The very best hard shell tacos in Long Beach, and even in Los Angeles. Do not let the size of the Restaurant detour you from trying the excellent food inside. I suggest you order their guacamole and a margarita with their free chips. Since all the food preparation & cooking are done inside the dining area, it can be hot (especially in the summer), but the taste of the food over weighs the inconvenience of the heat.

9 dollars for two pre-made supermarket hardshell tacos with cold chicken, ready as soon as I finished ordering. I was under the impression it would at least come with rice and beans but was told otherwise by the waiter. Pretty outrageous for Long Beach but I guess they prey on all the drunk people at the neighboring bars.

The burritos looked really good, so we came and got a wet burrito. Would definitely get that again–it was yummy, and their salsa was fresh and spicy. The chili rellano was okay, but I porobabaly might pass on it next time. We just got a to-go order, so were in and out pretty quick, but it has a nice ambiance, there is a room for the restaurant, and then there is also a room with a pool table. The staff is super friendly, and the restaurant is open late.

Great little place to pop in for good Mexican food and a drink. I’ll definitely eat here again. Partnered with the Reno Room bar next door, they provide food for the bar and the bar provides beer and libations for them.
Get a side of the corn avocado relish with whatever entrée you select.
To-go orders seemed very popular as the small venue can fill up quickly with just a few tables and counter seats. Happy hour and weekday specials available.

Whenever we’re in Long Beach we always visit Cocoreños for their blended margaritas! Burritos and tacos are also well prepared and comes fast. Overall great value especially if you go for their combination plates!
