Our first visit to Coconuts post COVID. Glad to say, it’s the same great place. Evidently there was a mass firing last year, too many issues to correct, and nearly all the staff was replaced. This time around we really enjoyed our visit. Not cheap, but it’s poolside and it’s Sanibel. Our bartender Nick was entertaining and personable.

Great views, great food, great service!
The only issue we ran into was a over agitated manager. Very sunny hot day and we attempted to open up a umbrella. We were quickly halted and he said “NO, NO, NO!” Completely rude and thankful it didn’t ruin the rest of the day. Needs retraining IMO or allow him not to interact with customers.

Where do I start? I’m in the middle of paradise eating a beautiful piece of grouper and listening to Derek kind of rock Sublime on the six string. This place is the bees knees. I don’t know about the some of the previous reviews because I am now “Coconuts Deep” in this place. Good work folks. Bravo.
Update: I’ve been waiting for the waitress to bring the bill for 25 minutes. From five to four, so quickly.

After reading grant, lisa, Sherri and Greg’s review I knew I needed to head on over to the Coconuts!!! What a great choice it was!!! Lauren was our fantastic server and the music was spectacular!! I ran into Lisa and Greg so clearly they came back for more!!! Not only did I keep my whole meal down I enjoyed it and will be back tomorrow for lunch… I’d give it 10 stars if I could!!

If I could leave them 0 stars I would. We have been coming to Sanibel for nearly 30 years, For many years coconuts was one of our must stop locations and was very much a tradition for us. In our most recent visit we were shocked to find out that Chris the bartender no longer worked there. It quickly became apparent that Chris made Coconuts great, they are nothing without him behind the bar.
Service was terrible, staff looked unhappy and annoyed and were slow to take orders. Food was overpriced garbage, and by no means up to the standards that most Sanibel restaurants meet. Hopefully whoever is running the show now gets it together and returns coconuts to a decent place to hang out.

While dining at the beachside bar, Coconuts, I had to pinch myself a bit. Silly me I thought I was dreaming, the experience was that exquisite. After a year of pandemic sorrows, I haven’t had the greatest of service at other eateries but that changed at the impeccable Coconuts. After each bite I was basking in the savory taste and wonderful atmosphere surrounding me. I would marry this restaurant if I could. You could say I’m coco-NUTS about it.

I read Lisa and Grant’s reviews, and I decided to try Coconuts one more time. It was a great experience. The food was tasty and the view of the Gulf was perfect! I found the staff to be attentive and extremely professional.

Wow! My family and I visited Sanibel this weekend and we were looking for a nice, relaxing place to sit back and enjoy ourselves. Coconuts did not disappoint! You truly can’t go wrong! A++ highly recommend and a big thanks to all of the other reviews or we wouldn’t have found this gem!
