The first time I ordered was on a busy Friday night. I called in a very large to-go order and had quite a few questions. The young woman who helped me was absolutely amazing — patient, kind, and so helpful. She even worked with me to customize one dish to avoid an allergy. When we picked up the food, everything was delicious. I couldn’t wait to come back! I told several friends and family members about it and was planning to place an even bigger order the next time.
Fast forward to Monday around 2:30pm. It was pouring rain and the Island Market was completely empty. I went in to place essentially the same large order (with one small change — simply leaving out one ingredient in a stir fry). The man helping me was shockingly rude. He flat out said they “absolutely do not customize anything.” When I politely mentioned that I had made the same modification just days earlier, he told me I was lying and that he is “always working.”
When I asked for his name, he refused to give it to me. That alone made it clear he knew his behavior wasn’t professional.
I was honestly devastated. Not just because of the refusal — but because of how I was spoken to. After raving about this place to family and planning to support them again, being treated that way was incredibly disappointing.
The food is great. But customer service matters — and unfortunately this experience completely changed how I feel about coming back.
I usually get meat/rice dishes at Thai restaurants, but we decided to try something different with the green beans and actually enjoyed it a lot! Only a little spicy, and the green beans were firm with good bite to them. The drunken noodles were really good too, although not as spicy as I would have hoped for a 3/5.
As far as seating, we ordered in advance to skip the line and just sat at the outdoor seating next to the restaurant.
For the price, I think the portion sizes were reasonable, and would come here again!
after continuing to try it out I am here to share!
My husband got the Tofu Pad Thai and I got the Veggie Low Mein.
Flavors – Pad Thai was very flavorful, and though I’m not a big fan of Pad Thai, I felt it was one of the better ones I’ve tried. My husband is a Pad Thai snob and he loved it, he just wished there were bean sprouts. Lo Mein, It was good! Not blown out of the park amazing but also not so bad that I would feel the need to say there was “no flavor”. I did read somewhere that this restaurant does NOT use MSG, so maybe when ppl are so used to loads of MSG in this type of cuisine, it can taste as if this place “lacks in flavor”. Maybe we all keep that part in mind.
Portion Size: perfect amount, on the generous side
Atmosphere: outdoor seating only – most tables are covered overhead by the roof of an adjacent store or an umbrella.
Service: man at the counter was friendly, I can assume dealing with the amount of tourists he deals with on the daily…he may have some off days LIKE WE ALL DO. I watched all different people walk up to that counter and not one time did I feel he was rude/racists. Food came out quickly – 10ish minutes from ordering.
Overall great experience and great choice for some vegetarian/vegan food as it can be hard to find sometimes!
