The food came out steaming. The homemade bean dip is so good! The chili relleno has such a good tasting breading.

The chips were warm and delicious but their salsa tastes like watered-down canned tomato-sauce. Since salsa is a main reason why people choose Mexican cuisine, I feel like this is a big miss. The main dish was excellent in taste, although poor in portion sizes…. At $16, I’d expect a whole plate of food… Not half of a plate. They kinda skimped on the rice/beans and definitely skimped on the chimicanga size at half the size I get elsewhere. If looking for fancy Mexican food, I’d drive a little farther a fancier experience and better salsa at Sol Agave.

Great place! Family run. Good treatment and flavors of traditional dishes.

The main dishes had great flavor. The side dishes and appetizers were underwhelming. I arrived around 600ish with my family. We were the only ones there. Service was slow. The staff seemed more concerned with cleaning the place up to close for the night rather than making sure our drinks were full. Overall I’m still willing to give them another shot and come back because the food was delicious.

We were so excited to try this cute little establishment in downtown PG, however, it failed miserably to meet our expectations. Let’s start with the salsa..watery and tasteless (unfortunately this is what I was looking forward to the most). The chips are decent with just the right amount of salt, as are their taquitos with a crisp airy shell and satisfying crunch. The beans were burnt to a crisp, mimicking a cow pie, and the rice was definitely from the good ole package of Uncle Ben. Save your pesos and go somewhere else.

Came here yesterday and we enjoyed it. Got the carne asada platter and the chicken chimi and they were both very good. Price is fair for what you get. I really liked their beans, and their chips. Servers are friendly and checked on us a good amount. The salsa was good but not my favorite, it needs a little extra spice, maybe more cilantro. There was no music playing and it was quiet so we didn’t want to talk at a normal volume. This place is definitely a more intimate vibe. Still would def recommend this place and will be back. Always a good idea to support a small local business!

GOOD FOOD! Just ate here for the first time and the food was soooo good! Right down to the warm, thin and crispy tortilla chips and salsa which was also good. I had a Chimichanga Suprema which comes with beef, pork and chicken inside as well as cheese, topped with guacamole and sour cream. It was absolutely delicious (see pics for reference).

I wish I would have taken pictures of everything else too. It not only looked good but tasted so good too. The food came out steaming hot and flavorful. Even the rice had flavor which a lot of Mexican places seem to struggle with around here. We got the queso dip, beef chimichanga, fish tacos, and fried ice cream (caramel). Oh my gosh, I haven’t had Mexican food this good in awhile. And this was the best fried ice cream I’ve had at a restaurant. Typically I have to make my own to make sure it is seasoned enough. We’ll definitely be coming back.

The jalapeño infused cream cheese on the cheesy chimmi is delicious. I usually ask to substitute beans instead of chicken. If you are in a hurry I wouldn’t recommend this place but if you are in the mood for a nice leisurely dinner with high quality fresh food I recommend this place. Support local family run businesses.

Excellent fresh made food. It’s a small operation so it can take some time if it’s busy, but worth the wait.
