We stopped into Cocina Sabrosa for the RI Food Fights’ “Taco Mania!” event.
The dining room itself is brightly lit, giving off a distinct cafeteria-like feel—it’s clean and functional, but not particularly cozy. You place your order at the counter, and the food is brought out to your table. The service was relaxed and generally nothing special, just the standard efficient delivery you’d expect from a counter-service spot.
We tried the Carne Asada Tacos — decent flavor, though not quite standout, and the lime wedges served with them seemed a bit past their prime. We also tried the Cubano sandwich. Visually, it was great: nicely pressed, generously stuffed, and made with an authentic type of Cuban bread. Unfortunately, the flavor was a letdown. It was a bit flat and lacked the punchy, vibrant, savory, and tangy notes you look for in a classic Cubano.
Overall, Cocina Sabrosa was okay — solid but not spectacular. Worth a try if you’re nearby, but probably wouldn’t go out of the way for it.

The restaurant itself is satisfactory but the food isn’t. The patacon is supposed to be a sandwich but was just thrown in the box with the plantain on the bottom and the meat on top. It was terrible presentation. My food was good tasting but I’m eating and I’m finding chicken bones mixed in with the chicken, cheese, mayonnaise and ketchup! I get that it’s real chicken and that’s great but what would happen if I wasn’t paying attention?! I could’ve broke a whole tooth on bones mixed in with my food. I’m very disappointed.

Another stop in the month of October rifoodfights for taco’s. Ended up getting Carnitas which looked good and even tasted amazing. I’m always looking to try different spots in the Providence area, you never know what corner or side street you’ll find the best small business food spot. , will be back again.

I stopped for take out after work and the food was delicious . The tostones were delicious. Nice and crispy with just enough salt. The steak was full of flavor and cooked perfectly. I couldn’t wait to get home to eat this and can’t wait to go back. I didn’t even know I liked chimmichuri sauce until I tried theirs. Even the mayokechup was the best.
Everything was loaded with flavor. I will definitely be back soon!!

Cocina Sabrosa definitely lives up to its name! They have the best chicharrones — perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Everything we ordered was so delicious, the place was super clean, and the service was friendly and fast. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. Highly recommend!

First order since the new ownership and was extremely disappointed. I frequently order the Chopped Cheese sandwich here and it is one of my favorites when I feel depleted. This time is was the worst sandwich I’ve ordered anywhere in a long time. It was lacking meat, seasoning, had mostly lettuce on it, and the bread is not as good as usual. It’s a shame to see another one of my favorite places get new ownership and go downhill

Cleanliness was superb. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Had a beef Chimi, tostones, pastelitos/empanadas (beef, chicken and cheese and ham, all three were delicious), the steak patacones. For drinks with had the Tamarind and the Chinola. I was so good . Second time around we had the rice, beans and pulled pork and chicharon. This is definitely be a family favorite and we will come back often.

We checked out this place as part of Taco Mania and I am so happy we did. The food was awesome and the owner was so nice! The tacos were so stuffed and flavorful. Definitely my favorite tacos so far! And I think I’ll dream about those ham and cheese empanadas. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

Everything here is DELICIOUS and fairly priced. We order from here for delivery to work often. On this particular day I went to pick up because we wanted it quicker. There was a mix up with the order. Francis was awesome! She took care of the mix up with the kitchen and made the wait actually fun. It felt like I was visiting with a friend I saw her interact with everyone that walked in the same way. Super Clean environment.

Not pleased with the service at all. Before I made my DoorDash order, I called the restaurant asking if they could please secure the food bag with tape/staples, etc. to protect the food from being tampered with. The woman said she’d do it for me and, lo & behold, the driver handed me my order in a flimsy plastic bag with NO PROTECTANT SEAL. The natural juice was even worse, he had it in his hand with no covering.
I tossed the drink as soon as I walked away from the driver.
The pasta tasted so bland. The empanada was dry and they didn’t include the sauce, which I paid extra for! Never ordering from here again.
