Cocina Mariposa opened in August 2019 and is located inside the Eureka Municipal Golf Course golf shop. Chef Carrillo has been serving quality interpretations of Mexican dishes inspired by regional Michoacán cuisine tapping into classic recipes and giving them a twist. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced and organic whenever possible!

Very relaxed and delicious little spot on the golf course. The food was fresh, tasted very good, the bean dip with the chips before our meals was a great appetizer. I got the enchilada plate. Nothing was too spicy as I cant do spice. Would come back

The BEST food woww everything is so insanely delicious – the tacos are amazing – be sure to hit taco Wednesday & do NOT skip out on the agua Fresca, they are always SO refreshing. the Chile relleno burrito might be my favorite thing ever besides the bean dip which I dream about when it’s been a while since I had it. Mari is the best & you can taste the love in her food. So grateful for her food

Such good food. If I lived closer, I would be here all the time! The fish tacos were amazing, and they didn’t have the birria tacos today, but was recommended the quesa tacos with pork — also, so good! Definitely a must!

I thought the gps was sending me to some horror movie and then it took me to a muni golf course. My hopes weren’t high and then someone leaving the restaurant said this is Eurekas hidden gem. That was a great start. They had free chips and beans/cheese that were tasty. The Shias freskas looked awesome but I didn’t want to pay $6 for it. Thats the going rate for good Shia fees as anyhow… I order the queso Birria taco and al pastor burrito w queso inside. Food was legit and I love to support local mom and pop shops. Servers were friendly and had a great meal on a long drive. Just what I needed. I forgot to take pix of the food bc I was so hungry.

Came here about a month ago with my husband and we were blown away by how tasty the food is here. I ordered the surf and turf nachos. The shrimp and meat was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My husband loved his burrito bowl. We had to try a keto taco. I mean cheese as a shell yes please! We love hot sauces so we ordered all 5 and was not disappointed. The owner came over and asked if we had any questions and chatted for a bit. Friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back.

A little restaurant that gives big flavor and excellent service! I ordered an enchilada plate and a Al pastor taco. The enchiladas were assembled like wet tacos, but they were flavorful and the shredded chicken was moist. The pastor taco was basic, tasted good nice spicy salsa. My partner order a Diablo burrito, fresh flavors with intense heat. We also ordered corn dogs and fries for the kido. We will go back. I will repeat what other people said in their reviews if you are in a hurry call a head. We enjoyed the views of the golf course while we waited. The people running the place were super nice!

This is one of best Mexican Restaurants in Humboldt County. From the chips to the entree everything is fresh and made from scratch. I had the enchiladas with rice and beans. My wife had the fried fish tacos. We will certainly be back to try more.

Great flavor! I had the surf n turf fries and my sis had the quesabirria tacos. The seasoning they put on the food is so flavorful!. Great service. Dining is outside or to go. Covered patio. Will definitely try this place again.
