My family of 3 dined here on a whim while shopping nearby based on positive Google reviews. The reviews are absolutely accurate, this is a wonderful spot!
For a Saturday night, the restaurant was not very full but they did get a steady stream of takeout orders. We were seated right away by a young waiter and brought chips, salsa, and waters.
We ordered ceviche to share, it was amazing. For our meals, my husband ordered the Burrito Super. I ordered Camarones al mojo de ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce) that came with tortillas and a side salad (so much food!). Our son had a bean and cheese burrito.
The portions were very large! It was a lot of food. I was very impressed by the food quality and authentic Mexican flavors. Everything was so good and prices are great for the amount and quality of food you receive.
I really wish this restaurant was closer to us. Can’t wait to come back and taste more of the menu next time we’re in Oceanside.
Additional notes: It’s a casual style restaurant and chilly inside in winter. No need to dress up but make sure you have a jacket if you tend to get cold. Parking is easy, free, and plentiful.

To be updated. Cocina Del Mar. Nice little family-owned restaurant in the Deep Valley. Corner of Douglas and North River Road. I’ve gotten a few take-outs from here. The traditional battered fried fish tacos are fine. They use double corn tortillas . I prefer their grilled fish tacos. Better are the mahi or salmon tacos. Recently, their pricing has jumped noticeably up to $9 for the salmon before taxes. Lol. So one day I just picked up a pound of salmon at Sprouts and made my own that lasted for a few days. Lol. Seriously, it’s a nice family-owned restaurant that I recommend. The bilingual ladies behind the counter are always friendly and helpful. One afternoon I actually stayed to eat there and was given a basket of tortilla chips and salsa while I waited. It was relatively quiet and peaceful after the lunch crowd. The place is clean, spacious, and relatively spartan. I didn’t check the bathroom, but I will next time. It’s a good indicator of a restaurant’s overall cleanliness. 4/5 stars

I think I told my waitress thank you about 20x’s as she kept coming to our table asking if we needed anything, how we were doing, ect. Very attentive. Carolina was amazing and helpful.

5.0 full stars!! Stopped by there with my man on our way back from San Diego.. and we had one of our best Mexican food experiences ever!!! Esp the surf n turf burrito was AMAZING! A MUST TRY!
For me the BEST BURRITO I ever had and my man is of Hispanic origin and it was easily among his top 5..
The salad and chips were also so good, a nice hint of spiciness to the salsa…
we also tried Del Mar Molcajete.. it was awesome as well.. all types of meats in it was made so fresh and good even tilapia .. and my man said the sauce tasted OG homemade ..
I tried the flan too.. very good
The staff were really friendly and attentive as well.
It may look low key from outside but DEFINITELY STOP BY if you are around that area

Not bad not bad no bad badingo. Place was very convenient due to literal proximity to our house. We called 1 time, no, two times until someone picked up. We got thr super burrito and the carnitas burrito. They were pretty tasty delicious . The salsas are just OKAY, the red one needs alot of salt…. what is it, there low sodium SALSA .
