We tried Cocina Del Carmen for the first time and I’m so glad we did! Came here for the mole but found so much more. Owner and staff are so friendly plus the quality food and service outstanding. My family can’t wait to come back! Here are some pics of our meals. Everything was tasty! The service was really good. A nice man named Jose welcomed us and told us about the restaurant and his family. He promised to make our meal special and it really was. We started with guacamole and chips. My friend got the Quesa Birria Tacos with Consommé. I got chicken fajitas. All the food was so fresh and rich in flavor. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Authentic Must Try Mexican Oaxacan food!
Oaxacan food specializes in Mole (complex sauce using chilies, and chocolate) along with other traditional dishes. I’ll be back to try out more items!!
What makes it special:
-delicious food (authentic)
-They even import ingredients straight from Oaxaca, Mexico!
I had:
-Mole Enchiladas. (Cheese, chicken and beef) 5/5 DELICIOUS. It comes with rice and beans (I chose all beans)
Service:
-Amazing, friendly & accommodating. The manager took some time to talk to us about where they source their ingredients and their history
Ambiance
-Nice little set up l, feels cozy
Must Try, and one of the best if not the best Mexican restaurants in Tencula/Murrieta area. If you’ve never had Mole TRY THIS-PLACE OUT!

Service was friendly helpful. I got the mole. The chicken was very moist, perfectly cooked. Mole was plenty flavorful. Dissapointed at the paltry amount of cheese. Like, you have to go out of your way to put so little cheese. The restaurant is very clean, neat decor. But, you cant help but feel they are trying to have more of a proper sitdown restaurant but it still feels like a fast food place with tables. The prices reflect a proper restaurant without the ambiance.
They offer chips with beans to start, tasted great but the prestentation looked like uhm… something else. Maybe some cheese on top would help

What a wonderful experience at Cocina Del Carmen tonight. Oxacan cuisine at it’s finest. It’s a little hidden treasure that you must try! We tried the restaurant based on the reviews and after trying the restaurant we realized that this restaurant deserves the best reviews on service food and cleanliness. We’re so impressed that for sur we’ll be back. The food has authentic and unique taste that will take you back to Mexico. Edith was helping and servicing our table. This food is amazing. It taste home made. The Quesa Birrias were an unexpected delight. The explosion of flavor after the first bite was delicious. The Chile Relleno plate taste like my mother in laws, I couldn’t believe it. The Carne Asada Fries and California burrito have unique flavoring unlike other taco shops in the area. Definitely recommend a try. Its about as authentic as you can get.

In town for business and decided to give Cocina del Carmen a try. I’m super glad I did. I had some picky eaters in my group but literally everyone was very happy with what they got.
The quesabirria tacos looked incredible when the order of three came to the table. They were equally as tasty. The tlyuda and the molcajete were both sizable and delicious. The star of the show in my opinion however is the Mole. I love mole and this was one of the better versions I’ve had. It was just the right mix of sweet and savory. It had a touch of heat and I could have eaten it with just a spoon.
The owner, Jose and his wife, Edith were gracious and welcoming. This is a newer place and is still finding its way through but if I were local, I’d visit over and over.
Great beer selection also!!!
