Cocary has been an SGV staple for me since the mid aughts. It’s not for everyone—a very simple menu. We really enjoyed the liver and intestine. An inexpensive place to eat that charges by the plate. A waitress will count your plates once you ask for the check and everything is self serve.

Yummy, for me the lamb is the best compare others meat, add on the vegetables, fish ball, tripe on etc make the soup more delicious. Create my own dipping sauce w/ vinegar, dry chili and mix with soy sauce. Try the cucumber salad is good.

This shabu-shabu place is really what you make of it. You go up to the different refrigerators to choose the ingredients you want and the reason why I’m giving five stars is because the quality of the meat, the freshness of the vegetables, the variety of the noodles and other carb options are solid. The broth is fine, the rice is only okay quality, but everything else is excellent. I suggest using a lot of garlic and green onion on the grill along with mixing in the soy sauce and the vinegar with the meat while it’s cooking versus separately. Just my tip :-). The service is standard but good and the interior could use some updating but this spot has been here for decades and it has a loyal customer base including me.

Rudest place to go to. I called before making the 40 minute drive to check on closing time. She told me 10pm, I got there at 9:26pm and the lady who is always there rudely said “you have 30 minutes to eat, no more!” I said Is fine I’m aware of it. She repeat again “no more, in 30 minutes you leave” so I was like no way I’m going to allow her to treat me that way, thanks to the public they’re in business. So I told her with that attitude I prefer to leave and so I did and she went after me and locked the door in my face and put CLOSE on the sign. Why couldn’t she just say we close at 10pm but last take in is 9pm. I loved this place and I really don’t feel welcomed here anymore. Will be looking for a new location. No need to treat your customer that way. If you’re about service save yourself time and don’y go here.
