Great experience at Coastal Star Brewing! We’re always looking for new restaurants in the area and decided to try Coastal as part of Galveston restaurant week. Fun and funky decor. The first thing that caught my eye was the inviting bar area and ‘adults only’ lounge area. A great place to hang out and enjoy a drink. The menu is expansive with many delicious options. We loved the chili, German chocolate, and red velvet cake. Will definitely come back to try some of the other menu items. A lovely experience overall. Cheers to Coastal Star Brewing!

This trip was our 1st time experiencing this wonderful place. We had a fabulous time talking with the owners Frank and Teffeny. He is the face of the bar and she maybe behind the scenes In the back but let me tell you she is a mad scientist on the flavor combo she comes up with. Seriously who would have thought Chipotle Banana would be a thing but it is!!!! The lavender margaritas was not only beautiful it tasted great!! Also who would have thought of a hotdogs being so good!

My travel partner is from Chicago and I’m from Wimberley, Texas. We met in Houston and then drove to Galveston. We were walking around on the Strand and doing some shopping. We asked a local where there was a good place to eat. They directed us to the Coastal Star Brewing Company. We went in and the owner greeted us. Very friendly. The place is ran by him and his wife who we didn’t meet. We had the bar b que and it was great. We tried the fries and loved them.

I had no complaints on my visit here. It was confusing at first because it comes off as a restaurant with a hostess but you quickly find out that is not the case. When you walk up to the counter the cashier is also your bartender. Wish they had that as two separate jobs. They have their own branded sodas which my boys enjoyed a lot. The food was expected. It is not out of this world amazing but it is not garbage either. It is a burger joint. We would definitely return to try some more another time.

We spent a lovely Thanksgiving Day having a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Coastal Star Brewing Company. The purple drink is a Texas Lavender Margarita. The food was delicious, unique ingredients to the sides, and the perfect portion. We were too full to eat dessert but they had a few pies and a few cakes. The pink champagne cake would’ve totally been my choice. The owner and his wife were so in sync. We sat at the bar and watched them make drinks, it was like an Olympic team anticipating what the other needed. They were very kind. Despite being busy they checked in with us a few times. When we had questions about the sides due to allergies, they didn’t hesitate to tell us the ingredients so we could assess. The menu h as enough variety of choices that everybody in your group would find something. I would definitely visit again.

Fantastic food & great drinks! We visited from Michigan, and the owner himself was behind the bar serving up drinks & food! It wasn’t until we sparked a conversation with him that we found out his story with this amazing place! Such a great atmosphere & fantastic owners/staff. Try the nachos, the tortilla chips are homemade & it’s delicious & the prices were fair!

Super great service, staff was extremely friendly and attentive, food was amazing. I had their cheese burger and the husband tried there Texas holy Trinity sandwich both was very delicious and filling. There homemade hot sauces are a must try if you love hot sauce. We loved the crushed red pepper hot sauce. It’s not really hot but has an amazing flavor that worked great for burgers and fries.

It’s such a quirky place! I loved the decor. We didn’t eat but we had cocktails. I had a couple of spritzers that were really good. The staff was really helpful and friendly. They checked on us regularly. My girlfriend had the blackberry bees knees. Actually she has three of them lol. We would definitely go back next time we are in Galveston.

Burger showed up fast and the portion was big, which I appreciated. But honestly, it just wasn’t good. I ordered medium rare and got well done, the bread was dry, and the burger fell apart as soon as I took it out of the too-small box.
Also, the order was supposed to come with fries, but none were included. So it ended up being a $20 burger ($28 with delivery), and without the fries it felt like a rip-off.
Hope this can get fixed, because I want to support local spots, but right now it’s hard to justify.
