On our second visit, I tried peppermint stick, also excellent. It wasn’t too sweet and allowed the flavor of the ice cream and peppermint to blend. Hubs got the coffee and cookies which also had a great flavor. There are tables set up with games like checkers, so you can play while you snack. We will likely be back before we head home. If you love homemade ice cream, don’t skip the Coastal Chill. I loved the cookie monster flavor so much, I made an illustration as a gift for the owner. I couldn’t even remember to take a picture before I’d eaten several bites. Yes, if you’re into cookies, it’s that good.
We returned for a third time, and they had some different flavors. I tried banana pudding (I think?) and black raspberry cheesecake. These are easily my next favorites underneath cookie monster. The banana pudding was like a chilled version of a childhood memory. The black raspberry cheesecake had a delectable tang from the fruit and the smooth flavor of cheesecake. My husband also got a scoop and enjoyed it. If possible, we’ll squeeze in one more visit before we head home.
Reply to the owner: I’m happy to share my art, and I’m so glad you like it. Thank you for the delicious ice cream!
*Update: Finally returned and tried more of the ice cream flavors. I got a Chillati with the lemonade Italian ice and the wonderful Vanilla Bean ice cream. As expected, lovely creamy frozen lemonade. The owner explained that her husband uses Madagascar vanilla and does it in multiple layers; hence the wonderful depth of flavor. We also got the Banana Pudding (exactly like Banana Pudding mixed with ice cream containing actual cookies) and the Coconut Chip (coconut ice cream with dark chocolate bits interspersed). The true shock was the Black Licorice ice cream. If you hate Black Licorice like I do, you’re gagging right now. DON’T. I tried it and it was unbelievably PHENOMENAL. It still haunts my waking thoughts it was THAT good. It’s creamy with the spice of the black licorice. The owners are some kind of sorcerers to be able to pull that off. Also pro tip: if you want more ice cream, get it in the waffle cone.
This was an amazing gem of an ice cream and Italian ice shop. We tried multiple items on the menu. Their Italian ice has a soft mouth feel to it with a consistency that I have never experienced before with Italian ice. Their made from scratch ice cream is fantastic. The true finds are their revolutionary Vanilla Bean and Chocolate. The Vanilla Bean is almost buttery and is the perfect Vanilla flavor! Their Chocolate is unique to any other version I have tasted, with more emphasis on cocoa and an underlying second flavor. Their seasonal and rotating flavors, such as Spicy Peach, add something interesting to shake up the menu. You can also get a crispy chocolate wafer sandwich cookie made with whatever ice cream filling you desire. The price was right too, approximately $6 – $7 per item; there was DEFINITE value in the product. The staff are relatively easy to work with. Go and try this place!
