I hadn’t been in years and wanted to try it out again, so my husband and I went. We’re just getting in to wine and since it’s a wine bar also and we like pizza…The atmosphere is very welcoming and romantic. Our waiter, Ethan, was exceptional, friendly and suggestive of what pizzas were his favorite!! We told him we were new to wine so he had the bartender come over and ask what we’d like to try. She poured 3 different kinds, and we liked the Moscato the best! We had the veggie and Mediterranean pizzas and both were fantastic! We came back for brunch a few weeks later and had bottomless Mimosas, I had the avocado toast and my husband the salmon bagel. It was fantastic too! Our new pizza restaurant!!! Thanks Ethan for the wonderful service – we came in with our son Zack the other morning for brunch .

Overall our new go to coal pizza place in dfw. We were in search for a great coal pizza place as we traveled through Southlake area . We love coal pizza in Florida in around italian areas like st pete or clearwater . The food was great. We had a house salad a 3 pepperoni pizza and completed with a tiramasu. All delicious. We will be back soon. Also great little outdoor eating area is available.

Hands down the best Pizza in town. The fried calamari was yum. Zucchini chips are addicting. The cheese ravioli with pesto sauce was extremely satisfying! We love how they make all of their sauces in house too. Harrison provided great service and the atmosphere was also really pleasant. Will absolutely be back because I will be thinking of that pesto sauce until then.

We feel special when we go to Coal Vines Southlake. The owner, Darren, always greets us and gives us the latest scoop on the new wines and ingredients he’s using to enhance our dining experience. He spends quality time with all the patrons and it’s the most genuine and professional behavior we’ve seen in a long time. J.C. our bartender, is an absolute genius with his smoked old fashioned and affogato mixes. J.C. always has a great smile and works hard to make us smile from his delicious creations!! Smiles are contagious in this place. We highly recommend anything he serves. Jennifer our server, takes great care of us and knows what we want before we do. She’s friendly, efficient and incredibly attentive. We love interacting with everyone at Coal Vines!!!! The food is high quality with more than fair price points. Generous servings and the beautifully plated food is impressive. The drinks are expertly curated and crafted. Check out the pics of the food and drinks. I’m writing this review because it makes us happy to let everyone know how wonderful everything and everyone at Coal Vines is. Run, don’t walk!!!!

Probably the best pie in the area by far. Excellent crust. They spent the money for quality mozzarella. Love the sauce. A bit more sausage would have been nice (slices, not crumble maybe?) But peppers were Excellent.

Wine list did not really grab me but will go back for the pizza and peroni on tap. Amazing.

For pizza snobs…this is an east coast coal fired oven pie.

An amazing Italian hideout, the food is fantastic and high quality. The Meatballs are meat, perfect keto. I asked for the vodka/habanero sauce which is house made and flavorful. Starting with zucchini chips is amazing!

We’ve been to coal vines a lot of times and have always been impressed. Pizza options and wine list are great. The service last night was a little rough. We had to constantly remind the server what we needed and what was missing. Waited around for drinks and plates. It was only half full on a Friday night, so I feel like somethings off.

There was live music on Friday evening. The kids were mesmerized by the musician. We had 2.5 hrs with our native Southlake friends. Food was amazing. Strong positive feelings for the Mediterranean and the pear/gorgonzola, el chapo was so spicy but also SO good. Affogato and strawberry cake were our favorites. To be fair I don’t get to try the tiramisu because the kids demolished it… I assume it was great. Service was also lovely. Best spot for pizza in DFW.

This was our 4th visit to Coal Vines. I wanted to give it multiple visits to give an accurate fair review. Great location. Warm rich interior that feels cozy and inviting. Like a pizza restaurant should feel. Pizza selection is vibrant and tastes amazing. We love coming here. But the service/staff feels confusing and disorganized. My wife and I watched over the course of an hour as the confusion carried on. Dirty tables sat. Empty water and wine glasses at every occupied table. Our order was messed up three times. It was frustrating, not for me but to see a healthy business lacking the most important piece of success, service. The wait staff was plenty, but they were running around not knowing their role as a “server”. Fill water glasses. Smile! Be friendly. Clear dirty plates. Help each other out. Smile…did I mention that. I noticed one customer walk out because her drink was sitting at the bar for several minutes.
This was a Friday night and the beautiful patio was nearly empty. The table next to us had a “reserved” sign on it, but over the course of 90 minutes it was empty; revenue lost. This restaurant should be fully loaded on a Friday. People should be waiting to eat but instead they have to seat themselves. Very disappointed. And don’t get me started on the $12 beers and $18 margarita! We will be back, but if the owner is open to honest feedback I’d love to talk.

Once loved for it’s atmosphere and delicious pizza, Coal Vines restaurant served most likely the worse pizza in Southlake today. I know, I know this sounds like a terrible review… but hear me out. Although the staff was friendly and nice, the restaurant was absolutely dirty. The hallways, tables, restrooms and what we could see from the hallway… kitchen. The goat cheese marinara was a soup of marinara with very little goat cheese. The pizza was so mushy and soft, felt like a brick going down our stomach. I truly used to absolutely love this place. I do not know what happened but I do know that is owner operated and I hope they see this review and perhaps check on what went on yesterday.

It was a slow early evening yesterday and we thought …interesting the food taste like it was made ahead of time… by a lot of time.

It wasn’t until about 2 hours after that we all started to feel sick and queazy from the meal.i contemplated a lot about reviewing in such a manner. I am not saying we will never go back but the food was barely consumable and it was truly a sad moment as we know that sometimes is hard to keep things and quality in the long run when some staff is not up to par. Something definitely needs to change.
