Stopped by for lunch, not busy at all. Really cool inside and out. Now for the food, we had the brisket and turkey. Brisket was extremely dry, yes even the moist was dry. Turkey was decent. The sides were the green beans and the Mac and cheese. Bland taste. Talked with other folks there and they stated the same.

I think this is the first negative review I’ve given in eight years. Hands-down, the worst barbecue I’ve ever had.. The brisket was dry with no flavor. Along with everything else I got the JV platter, which Is each meat And it was no good. And then I try my kids, macaroni and cheese, and that was even worse I feel like I just threw $200 right out of my window

Food was pretty good, moist brisket is a good amount of fat though, so I do recommend getting the normal one. Everything else is pretty good though for getting your BBQ fix, can definitely recommend trying out, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating

This place is a good spot in Mcgregor for some good BBQ. The menu is great take on a traditional BBQ menu. Pushing the limits on what a BBQ Restaurant is known for and I give them a lot of props for serving what they do here! Takes a lot to venture outside the box.

Onto the food….!

Most of the time when I order pork I’m disappointed because I have been spoiled on real pulled pork from the Carolinas, George and Virginia. Typically pulled pork outside of these states just isn’t good. Usually having that old, dirty, stale pig taste. For the first time in a long time I had pulled pork here that actually tasted like a fresh clean pig that hasn’t sat around too long and was quite enjoyable. The coleslaw was a good complement to the sandwich it didn’t overpower it and the sauce was a nice touch. You get a little sweetness from the slaw and a little sour from the pickles and sauce which paired very well with their version of pulled pork. Over all great sandwich!

The white trash burrito is definitely a good stoner burrito. This thing is a sloppy good time. It is a bit of a mush burrito because the flavors run together until you bite into the sausages and it really breaks up the profile at that point. Then taking the next bite it’s hard to tell what you’re tasting. With that said if your hungry and need to satisfy the urge and you don’t know what to order this is for you.

The chop beef is very good. Their beef is actually chopped not processed or pulled. The texture is what you would expect from chop beef and the flavor is on point. I think if they could catch some of those beef drippings in a bottle and squeeze a bit on these sandwiches they will be hard to beat. That little extra moisture with the sliky texture from the drippings would knock this sandwich out of this world.

The small house salad is nice because it’s a leafy green salad not just iceberg lettuce. The ranch is the one we all look forward to when we go out to eat.

The Cobbler was amazing! Seriously! It has been so long since I had a Cobbler that wasn’t so sweet you couldn’t taste what you were eating. Every flavor in this dish was easily picked up! Making this my favorite part of the meal. If I wasn’t so full I would have eaten 3 servings easily! Definitely a must try for anyone!

Also while your their pick up a bottle of that Felony BBQ AP seasoning they have for sale! I think you’ll be happy with what you can create with these. Try them on everything!

Tried the local bbq joint. Coach’s BBQ. Probably better to eat at than for carryout. Had better in Waco. Online menu out of date and did not get my sausages. Will try again but actually eat there at a meal time instead of at 2:45. Good Turkey and Pulled Pork. Brisket average at best, good smoke but too lean. Almost looked like ribeye from the fat in the middle of the slice. Mac & Cheese good. Green beans not. Skip the deserts, nothing special.

We were traveling through and so glad we stopped in! We each had the 254 one with onion rings and one with house salad, Sweet Tea and cobbler. So good and so full!

Drove all the way from Ft Worth just to eat here. Always the best! However our food was cold when we got it and there were 3 patrons in the dinning area already eating. So im not sure what was going on there! My daughter ordered the side of mac n cheese and it was so dry from the steam table/heat lamps it wasn’t edible, was a bit disappointed to see the sauces on the tables with no lids to cover the spout so there were flies going in and out of the opening. Not the greatest experience than what ive had in the past. But definitely worth another visit in the future

Stopped here in the mid afternoon on my way out of town and needed a good “stick to my ribs” type of meal.

I saw this place from the road and swung in to see what they’re all about. Loved the honky tonk vibe and Jerry Jeff Walker serenading me while I chowed my “brisket enchiladas.” Lol, always love the endless SW flair of cuisine in this part of the world.

All told, this was awesome value for the dollar and the quality was pretty good, the cheese was a bit questionable and I felt like I was eating nachos at a high school football game, but it was still good!

The cashier was pleasant and on her game and no one hassled me about about not wearing a mask which is very welcomed these days!

Thank you for the experience. Next time I’ll try the BBQ as I bet that’s the true specialty here.

Come on in and try it for yourself!
