If you love fried chicken, then Choong Man Chicken is basically your destiny. This is the OG KFC, Korean Fried Chicken, the kind that makes you take one bite, go silent for a second, and then look at everyone at the table like, “Okay… wow. That’s ridiculous.”
CM Chicken is probably the closest you’ll get to Seoul without spending $1,200 on a plane ticket and questioning your financial decisions mid-flight. The chicken here is insanely good, juicy, crispy, packed with flavor, and executed so perfectly it almost feels unfair to other fried chicken places.
I’ve been to other CM Chicken locations, but this one is on another level. Aside from the dangerously addictive food, walking in feels like stepping into a whole different world.
There’s stuff everywhere to look at. Multiple screens playing K-Pop and ramen commercials, an awesome collection of vintage cameras and electronics from the 90s and early 2000s, and even a little serving robot that brings your food to the table like we’re all casually living in the future now. Not gonna lie, the robot delivering fried chicken might be one of the greatest inventions of modern civilization.
The staff is also fantastic, friendly, attentive, and somehow perfectly calibrated. They make sure you’re taken care of without hovering over you like you’re about to attempt a dine-and-dash with a drumstick.
Bottom line: you need to come here. Bring friends. Order a lot. Accept that you will probably eat more chicken than you planned. It happens.
And if you don’t like fried chicken… well, this place might fix that. If not, I honestly don’t know what to tell you.

delicious food & very friendly service!! the rosé tteokbokki was amazing and the spicy bulgogi fried chicken was perfectly spicy for my taste (the heat is intense they do not play around ). the atmosphere is cute and fun! I live three hours away but make a point to come here whenever I’m in town, never disappoints ☺️☺️

If you craving something like sweet and spicy, I highly recommend this one. I love their Tteokbokki, original wings, my kids love their bibimbap, original chicken burger, fries and of course their boba drinks. I can promise their whole menu is so yum .

Chicken wings are amazing. Very tasty and well cooked. Garlic spicy, Soy Garlic, lemon green onion, sweet onion chicken all taste good. Ambience is very cozy and very Korean. Come here for Korean vibes and great chicken.

I’ve enjoyed dining at Hawthorn Place many times, but this was my first time ordering from this location—and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The sandwich arrived with burnt, overly chewy bread, and the combo I ordered was missing the drink entirely. The honey garlic drumsticks lacked any noticeable honey garlic flavor, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience fell short of the quality I’ve come to expect from Hawthorn mall.

Since their specialty is fried chicken their chicken tastes good but I wasn’t the biggest fan of their homemade white sauce that wasn’t flavorful to my personal taste. But I so so appreciate their Korean vibe with K-pop music videos playing on tvs, walls decorated with modern entertainers and their ice cream bars in an ice box that transport you back to Korean city life. I’d say you are paying for the experience and the nightlife as you get together with people to chill late at night here which is a really nice offering to the Koreans and the K enthusiasts alike.

We ordered catering for a party recently and all of our guests loved the wings. I only ate small meals with my family at the restaraunt beforehand, so the owner was very helpful explaining our options for a large party and he gave us extra sauces to try for next time. Will definitely come back!
