I recently had the joy of having my own micro wedding at Cluny Bistro, and I cannot say enough good things about this place! As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen a lot of venues, but we chose Cluny for our own celebration because the space is just so warm and romantic. The details inside are stunning and it has such a cozy, special feel that was perfect for our intimate ceremony.

Even with a snowstorm outside, the bistro felt like a dream. The lighting was beautiful for photos and the whole atmosphere was so spirit-filled and personal. Our guests are still talking about the food, too! The brunch reception was absolutely incredible and easily one of the best meals we’ve ever had.

The restaurant is inside Distillery District so we were able to take beautiful photos inside the grounds. The staff was so accommodating and made sure everything ran smoothly so we could just focus on our family and friends! We’ve gone back to celebrate my birthday and also Valentines day here 🙂

If you’re looking for a heartfelt, gorgeous spot in Toronto for a micro wedding or a romantic dinner, Cluny is a must! I loved being a bride here, and I would be so excited to come back and capture another couple’s story in this space!

My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here and the service and food made it a great experience.

Our waiter (I think his name was Rishi), suggested we order the Caesar salad and asparagus frites for our starters due to our dietary restrictions and they paired together perfectly. In addition to that, the quantity of the food was more than expected as a high end bistro like Cluny’s.

For our main, we ordered the potato and egg dish, which was also recommended ( forgot the name lol). It was an also delicious, it was not too heavy and was perfectly balanced with the spinach.

The space is elegant with a nice ambiance, but seating took longer than expected even though the restaurant was not busy. Menu selection was decent and it was nice to see that they also offer a kids’ menu.

The French onion soup had good flavor, but the lobster bisque was overly salty, too rich, and had a slightly bitter taste. The steak and burger were cooked well and paired nicely with the fries and sauces. The cod and lobster dish was a major letdown, the flavors didn’t work, and it was hard to understand what the dish was trying to be.

Given the prices, I expected a much higher level of quality, especially with the food and service(!!!).

Beautiful restaurant with great food and incredible service. Went for the current winterlicous menu and was greatly impressed by the taste, presentation and generous portion. The only slight I would give it is that the parm tulle served atop the Caesar salad was stale and almost inedible with how tough it was, it also comprised almost the entirety of the dish so it was hard to avoid. Would’ve faired better if it was done upon ordering or to just remove entirely. But apart from that every dish was incredible, with the highlight being the French onion soup of course. All in all a great experience and you definitely have to grab an almond croissant on your way out from the bakery as it is hands down the best in the city!

Our first visit here, to enjoy a Thanksgiving Brunch with our family. We are frequent visitors to the Distillery District but had never had the opportunity to visit Cluny. I had made reservations not knowing how busy they would be at Thanksgiving and for brunch. Arrived a little early and after a short wait we were seated in a section in the centre. A combination of bench on one side and chairs on the other. A very French decor and ambience throughout. We were fortunate to enjoy live entertainment during our visit that was a very nice touch. A singer accompanied by a guitar player who entertained with some classics and other favourites. It was just the right volume to allow us to converse and enjoy the music. Our server was very friendly and efficient, making appropriate recommendations. Food was served in a timely manner where we never felt rushed which allowed us to enjoy the atmosphere. We chose a variety of dishes from the brunch menu and each one was presented well and everyone enjoyed their meal. I would definitely recommend the Farmer’s Breaky, or the Croque Madame, and the Honey Glazed Brioche definitely looked delicious! There is ample room in the restaurant so you do not feel crowded in. Also there is an outdoor patio area that looked fantastic which was heated. Overall a great experience from start to finish. Kudos to our server Nga for the excellent service. Would definitely recommend and we will likely return.

Got porkchop and bison but the food was very salty. Our porkchop was rare near the bone side, we asked our waiter and he came back and confirmed that it’s cooked. We didn’t eat them still since it’s definitely rare. Probably won’t come back for the food.

Love the atmosphere though.

We had our small wedding in Cluny’s private dining room (west side). The pricing was reasonable compared to other venues we looked into, and it was really convenient that the wedding package included a photo permit for the whole distillery district. The private room and entire main restaurant are beautiful.

On the day of the wedding, the staff set up all the furniture and helped us set up our florals even though that wasn’t part of their scope of work. The food was delicious – I may be biased, but I’ve always found food at weddings to be mediocre and I thought this was the best wedding food I’ve ever had. The rainbow trout was moist with a crispy skin and the dark chocolate hazelnut mousse cake was amazing. Since our wedding took place on a weekday during the day, the main restaurant wasn’t open yet and the staff were very patient and kind in letting us take photos in the main dining room and bar area.

There were only 2 minor issues that happened. The outdoor patio area for the ceremony can get kind of loud with deliveries and passing trains. There happened to be an idling truck nearby during our ceremony so it was hard for everyone to hear. The other thing was that we were supposed to have an hour for tear down after our timeslot, but the staff started setting up for the next wedding almost immediately after ours ended and the guests for the next wedding were already arriving and sitting down about halfway through our tear down hour. Luckily we didn’t have much to pack up so it wasn’t a big deal and I’d still highly recommend Cluny for the food and as a wedding venue.

Beautiful spot and atmosphere, and our food was great! Our waiter made us feel super cared for. For brunch, we got the soft shell crab Benedict and the potato and onion galette – would recommend both. We ordered the Vanilla crème brûlée and the Buche de Noel for dessert. I will say the crème brûlée’s caramelized sugar top was too thick for the layer of custard below. And I wouldn’t recommend the Apple Lemonade drink if you’re not into a very spiced/fermented taste.

Had a lovely brunch at Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie. The space is bright and charming, and the pastry case alone is worth the visit—flaky croissants and perfect tarts. Our plates were beautiful and delicious (hello, eggs benny), and the coffee was smooth and kept coming. Service was warm and attentive without rushing us, so we could linger and chat. A wonderful spot for a relaxed, feel-good brunch—can’t wait to go back.

Cluny’s is THE gem for sophisticated dining in the Distillery District. Come here every so often.

The service is lovely, and the atmosphere is warm, clean, and elegant.

The food is a hit or miss for me. In the featured pic (Brunch) for example, the Honey Toasted Brioche was spectacular and I endulged from beginning to end. The Cheese, S’il Vous Plaît was delicious, although it was poorly presented. The Shore Lunch wasn’t particularly anything to write home about – the beading was bland, but the cod was flakey.

Generally, I always have a great experience!
