Great spot in State College! The fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside, and the fries were hot and well-seasoned. Portions were generous and everything tasted fresh. The staff was friendly and the service was quick, making it an easy go to for a casual meal. Definitely worth checking out if you’re craving classic fish and chips.

Yesterday afternoon we had some time to kill and a hole to fill. We were attending our Granddaughter’s Basketball game at the High School and decided to grab a bite at Cluck and Catch because it was nearby. The young man behind the counter greeted us promptly and courteously, waited patiently while we looked over the menu, this was our first visit, and answered our questions politely. Both my Husband and I ordered the 3 piece Cluck meal. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to substitute the side order of white rice for the fries that came with, lol, I know, I know I am an oddball but I don’t get excited over French Fries. Our meals came out in less than 15 minutes, piping hot, even the rice which was very welcome on the dreary damp day. The chicken was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy breast meat on the inside. Portion size was more than plentiful for a lunch, lightly seasoned. Hubby really liked the CC sauce for dipping, I thought it was overpowering. His Fries came out lightly battered. I enjoyed my rice substitute! The tri-color coleslaw was excellent, creamy and crunchy, I would have eaten more! Not sure about the whole serving toast with chicken thing, but if you like toast, it was good toast
All in all a solid choice for a quick bite! The signs on the wall are chuckle worthy!

Dad and I stopped on one of our daily adventures. He was hungry for fish and they had four different options. We both went with the COD. It was excellent. We got a single serving. It came with 2 sides. I got cole slaw and fries. Dad got cole slaw and mashed potatoes. It’s a small place with a great place with a great atmosphere. The lady who took our order was very friendly and courteous. If you’re in the area check it out.

The haddock was the star here! Strongly recommend eating there since this sort of food just doesn’t travel well (I ordered there for take out and drove about 10 minutes home). I hope they have some outdoor tables in the summer. Flavors were good and loved the fries. Likely won’t get the Mac and cheese again but that’s fine, the fish and chips are plenty good to bring us back again. My cod sandwich was good but I don’t think the drive home with it did it any favors. .

Stopped by this place for a snack. Overall a good experience…

Pros:
Chicken tenders – cooked to order so they were hot & fresh when we received them.
Dipping sauces – nice variety
Fried haddock – good flavor without a lot of breading
Banana pudding – made with sliced bananas & Nilla wafers. Excellent.

Cons:
The restaurant was small so they didn’t have a lot of seating.
The corn we ordered was cold. We ended up taking it home instead of eating it there.
The Mac & cheese wasn’t good at all. Tasted sour & spoiled.
The bathrooms are located in the restaurant next door. The staff took us through the kitchen before going through another door to the other restaurant. We didn’t feel comfortable going the same way back so we just went out the front door of the other restaurant then back to cluck & catch.

If I go again it would be for the chicken, fish, and banana pudding. To go.

Stopped into Cluck and Catch on a rainy day and was seriously impressed! I ordered the haddock plate, which came with two sides. I got the fries and mac and cheese. Everything was top-notch.

The haddock was massive, perfectly crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside, some of the best fried fish I’ve had locally.

The tartar sauce deserves its own shoutout: flavorful, tangy, and easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The mac and cheese was made with real cheese, seasoned beautifully (not spicy, just flavorful), and incredibly creamy. The fries were golden, crunchy, and just right.

The service was equally great! The guy at the counter was super helpful and kind, making the whole experience even better. The place was nearly full when I arrived, which speaks volumes.

Whether you’re a seafood lover or just looking for a great local spot to eat, Cluck and Catch is definitely worth checking out. I’ll absolutely be back!

Very polite, explained the menu when i had questions, made sure to provide us with plasticware when we forgot to grab it ourselves, and the food is amazing. They give you a free side of ranch and leave extra condiments at the table as well. They even changed their prices which are now much cheaper. They proportions are also fairly big.

Service was friendly. We didn’t wait too long for our food. Ordered the haddock plate (1 fish slice) that comes with 2 sides and 4 chicken breasts. The fries, mac n cheese and clam chowder were all delicious. The batter on the fish is the best I’ve had in the area thus far. A little pricey but the portions were huge. Lots of parking since it is also a Weis parkig lot.

This is a small shop that seems to mostly exist for takeout or delivery with a third party. They do have seating for dine-in though, which seems odd given that I didn’t see any bathrooms. There was only one door inside and it’s for “staff only”.

On the menu they claim to batter their food in house, and I’d agree on that. Not at all processed, which is great! I tried the chicken tenders, of which they give a generous portion. However, they had almost no flavor. It’s a shame that there’s too little seasoning in the batter, and absolutely no seasoning on the chicken itself. No rub, no marinade of the meat, nothing. Because of that the chicken wasn’t very good. It wasn’t tender, and had a strong “chickeny” taste (that taste you get when you overcook chicken or had it frozen and then cooked it without any seasoning).

It’s a shame, because this place had promise. The fried chicken tenders looked amazing… just wished they tasted at least half as good as they looked.
