We’re new to the area and wanted to find a nice place for dinner. Some of the more popular places were booked up but we were able to make reservations here.

The wine was good and the owner and staff were nice, but thats about it.

The sea bass was fairly bland, the wagyu was barely cooked, and the pork was genuinely solid. However, NONE of this was worth the price tag.

They don’t give you a menu, so when the check comes and its 200-300 more than you’re expecting ($500 for two people) you can only laugh. Each dish and appetizer was about 90 a piece when they should be about 45 at most.

Clover Wine Merchant is a must visit hidden gem in Perry, Ga! It was the most relaxed experience I’ve felt in a longtime with southern hospitality, amazing lobster roll (shared), and Michael was remarkably knowledgeable about different wine regions. Global wine selection available to take home after enjoying a glass in the relaxed vibes they’ve created. Looking forward to returning for a special dinner soon!

I genuinely dislike leaving a one-star review, especially because the food and atmosphere here were quite good. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling taken advantage of, and I feel obligated to share it so others can make an informed decision.

There are no menus with prices, and the staff and overall charm of the restaurant create an environment where you would never expect what followed. What was meant to be a casual family dinner turned into the most expensive meal I have ever unintentionally had. Our total exceeded $500 for two entrées and one child’s meal.

What made this even more concerning was the receipt. Each individual item was listed as $0, with only a grand total at the bottom. When we questioned this and asked for clarification, the staff initially appeared surprised and then returned with an itemized receipt showing shockingly high prices for every dish. I have dined at Michelin-rated restaurants for significantly less.

Afterward, I looked through other reviews and was disappointed to see that this appears to be a common experience, which makes the situation feel less like an accident and more like a pattern. Transparency matters, especially when pricing is far outside what most folks would reasonably expect.

This is truly a shame, because the food and ambiance had so much potential. Unfortunately, the lack of pricing transparency and the way this was handled completely ruined our night, and I would hate for another family to have the same experience.

Clover is the best kept secret in Middle Georgia. I am local and bring all of my out of town friends here. They serve the absolute best french 75, truffle chips and lobster rolls. These are just a few of my favorites. The hospitality and service are just as exceptional as the food!

As soon as we went in. We explained how we liked this sparkling wine we had recently and how we aren’t knowledgeable of the wine space yet, and Michael was very accommodating to our needs. He explained all of our options right in front of us very thoroughly with the process and how the wines and champagnes come about. He is a teacher that gives confidence into the buyer on what they are purchasing! Nothing of his beverages are like anything you will find in store 110% recommend!

What a great experience!
The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about your favorite libations. Ask them about wine, whiskey, beer or whatever your favorite cocktail may be and they’ll help find the perfect mix/pairing.
A gem in downtown Perry!

This is hands down the best place in Perry for an exceptional wine and dining experience. My wife and I had an unforgettable evening here. From the moment you sit down at the high top, you’re welcomed by Michael, a knowledgeable sommelier who takes the time to understand your palate. There are no menus here—just a curated experience where Michael expertly pairs one of their over 250 wines to perfectly match your tastes.

He thoughtfully offers a selection of wines to taste, ensuring you have the ideal one to enjoy before and during your meal. The food was incredible—we ordered the same dish and were blown away by the flavors. The steak we had was easily one of the best we’ve ever tasted. The appetizers, sides, and overall service were impeccable.

I can’t recommend Clover Wine Merchant enough—10 out of 5 stars! Don’t even bother reading other reviews; just come and experience it for yourself.

Seriously, who doesn’t like wine?!? And now you can also get dinner there… we don’t go very often, but when we visit Perry GA we make every attempt to stop in at the Clover Wine Merchant. As Perry continues to expand their restaurant and entertainment scene, Clover adds its own unique flare to the mix.

You can enjoy a wide variety of wine vintages at their shop. They have recently added some fine scotch and bourbon selections.

If you get a chance, take a shot with them for dinner when they offer it. I promise you will not be disappointed!

I’ve never been to a restaurant that was basically an elaborate scam before, but this place has it down.

There’s no menu and no pricing, so I laughed when the check came out to $300 more than we thought it would. I don’t mind being charged 5-7 dollars ($25 per glass) more on a glass of wine than I normally would because the pours were very heavy, but I do mind being charged 120 dollars for 2 appetizers and 180 for 2 entrees.

Never have I paid $90 for pork and seabass. The restaurant is cosplaying as a Michelin 2 Star when it’s missing its identity as a small town wine bar. If you’re going to charge these prices, have a menu that lets people know they’re paying double. Also, the pork was raw and the seabass needed at least some seasoning.

With that being said, the owner was incredibly kind.

I think this was the best steak I’ve ever eaten, seriously!! This family run restaurant is so delicious and they really make you feel at home. They have a rolling menu with no printed menu. The waitress told us the 3 appetizers and 3 entrees. It was pricey, but such a great meal!

Pictured: lobster bisque appetizer and steak entree.
