Positives are the Taste and Quantity of the Food and Drinks offered. Everything was delicious and the price too seems reasonable. Service was quick (medium crowd when we visited) and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The have plenty of Cocktails and Mocktails options to choose from, along with a decent Beer and Wine selection. I only tried the Mango Mule and it was yummy.
Indian Restaurants with Bar options are few, so I would definitely recommend.
Reason for 4 Stars is this. I have been waiting to visit this restaurant for almost 3 years now, ever since I read an article about the young Indian-American kid who is Executive Chef, and it was billed as a Indian Fusion restaurant with a modern twist. While the food tasted really good, I wouldn’t really call them Fusion or anything with a twist. 95% of the Food Menu is just regular Indian Recipes, so nothing to be excited about. I wish there was at least few more items that offered a different culinary experience. Atmosphere too somehow didn’t hit the right note. Decor did look great for the most part. It felt under lit but not in a romantic way, more like depressing way. Maybe I am being too picky, but there are so many new Indian Restaurants popping up in NJ/NY with different themes, interesting decor, unique menu, etc., and in comparison to those Clove 12 falls short.
Coming to the restaurant – it’s huge, and the ambience is really good; they can definitely accommodate large groups. It was a weekday evening, and when we entered, only one table was occupied, so it had a very deserted look.
We settled down and ordered-
* Manchow Soup – it was good. 5/5
* Chicken Dum Biryani: I’m not sure why I order biryani from ‘not so famous’ biryani places; I might be hoping for a surprise taste – it literally failed, and they should rename it as Chicken pulav. Also, too oily.. 1/5
* Goat Sukka: should have been spicier, more flavorful. 3/5
Overall, the satisfaction level was not that high.. nothing unique, and whatever the hype about the new young chef, I did not find that interesting.
3.5/5 for me, but I am rating it as 4 just to help them grow their business.
Endless list of good food and amazing drinks, really loved the pineapple and jalapeño margaritas.
The staff is very humble and flexible. They happily addressed all our requests. Thank you for making our time so special!
It’s a must go!!
I didn’t get to enjoy much of it before I vomited multiple times due to my egg allergy and my throat swelled up. I had notified the waitress when I ordered that I have a severe allergy to eggs and nuts. She said she didn’t think there were eggs in the shrimp. After I told her I was having an allergic reaction, she checked with the kitchen and came back and told me there the shrimp was cooked in an egg coating. (This occurred in June 2024.) Please be careful and always check with the kitchen regarding the ingredients rather than assuming so this doesn’t happen again.
The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Bhujan, who made our drinks, did a fantastic job; they were perfectly crafted and complemented our meal superbly.
The food was truly excellent, with each dish exceeding our expectations. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was flavorful and well-prepared.
Overall, the staff at Clove12 made our visit memorable with their warm hospitality and professionalism. We look forward to returning soon to enjoy another wonderful meal in such a pleasant setting.
What truly set ‘Clove 12’ apart was the exemplary service provided by the staff, particularly Manju and Harsh. Manju, with her radiant smile and genuine warmth, made my family feel exceptionally welcomed, adding a special touch to my mom’s birthday celebration. Harsh ensured that our dining experience was seamless, attentively meeting our needs with efficiency and care. Their active and energetic service, combined with the professionalism of the entire team, significantly enhanced our evening.
Our culinary journey was equally remarkable, beginning with a selection of vegetarian appetizers that delighted our taste buds. The Methi Matar Malai stood out, with its rich flavors and creamy texture highlighting the finesse of North Indian cuisine. Accompanied by perfectly baked Bullet Naan and Garlic Naan, our meal progressed to a delectable climax with the Veg Dum Biryani, a symphony of aromatic spices and perfectly cooked rice that comforted and satisfied in every bite.
The combination of mouthwatering dishes, a soothing ambiance, and above all, attentive and personalized service, made ‘Clove 12’ not just a meal, but a celebration. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience, and a place we’ll surely return to with joy.
