Friendly local diner. Clean updated ambiance with local friendly vibes. The food is cooked to order and has great flavor. My friend bought me the chicken livers with wine sauce and crazy cake for my birthday and today I took my husband. We live 45 minutes away but we will definitely be returning.

All great servers; however, “Angie” is our favorite. We go there 4 – 5 times a week and try to sit at her table. She is always friendly and pleasant, efficient and accomodating. The food is homecooking and reasonably priced. They do often run out of their “specials” and the servers have to face dissappointed customers. Beware, soups are usually lukewarm but, just tell the servers, like our “Angie”, will be more than happy to heat it up. Not easy to find such accommodating servers these days that we really appreciate.

First time coming in here being that my job is only a few doors down. I heard a lot of good things so I had to check it out for myself. The service was A1 all the way around. All our good came out pretty fast and it was hot. They also give you large portions of food too. I like the fact that the waitress continuously made sure we were good and kept our drinks replenished. I never had fried squash before but it was so so good.

Fried catfish with tartar and cocktail sauce was delicious! Green beans were perfect. Mac and cheese was okay. Key lime pie cake was decent – very moist, but I like key lime in pie form better. Knocking a point for moldy lemon in my water, but very friendly service!

We can find lots of food items to select from the menu. Food is consistently good and reliable. Best squash- and I dont like squash! Very large portions. Always need a doggie bag for the leftovers. Friendly, welcoming staff.

96.5% of the time you can ask for a better restaurant. 3.5% of the time, you might be better off to go somewhere else. Something’s off, and I don’t know what it is. I came in this morning and no one was there to seat me. I’ve never had to wait that long to be seated. I could hear someone in the back complaining about something. I don’t know what it was, but after I finally got seated, not much changed. I could still hear the one lady that’s worked there for a pretty good while saying something to the extent that she didn’t know how she was going to do something. Then I heard someone else say that they didn’t know what was going on and they was doing the best they could. Then finally when someone came out to take my order, they asked me what I wanted. I drank the same thing every single time I go there, ice water and coffee. She got the water and didn’t bring the coffee, then later on when I still hadn’t have my coffee she was over in the corner shooting the Bull with someone in the restaurant, and I was thinking, ” Hows about you do your job and bring my coffee!?” I tried to get her attention and she walked right past me, so I got up and walked right out the door. I don’t know what’s going on there, I just know it needs to be fixed. I’ve never had bad food there but I can tell you one thing, the atmosphere isn’t what it used to be. Seems to be, it used to be a lot more happier environment, and that doesn’t seem to be the case here lately. Seems like the workers morale in that places in all time low since I’ve been going there. I don’t understand what’s going on but you’ve got some exceptional waitresses there, but sometimes they’ll be doing something else and all I can think is, your waitresses and the people that work for you are the reason people come to your restaurant. You can get food anywhere, the environment in that place is always been the little Hometown restaurant where you felt at home. I haven’t felt that in a while, especially this morning. Fix it!

Came in today for lunch, sat down, ordered within 3 min of sitting down. I asked the waitress about the special on the board. She explains what comes on the item and we make a couple of adjustments. Food comes out 30 min later and wasn’t correct, the waitress took the plate with attitude, and then complained about my order in the back- we could hear it plain as day. I came here once or twice a week for the last few years and the last 3 visits have either been bad experience from wait staff and the food hasn’t been as good. I tried to pay for my tea and leave but they wouldn’t charge me for my tea. I won’t be back.

Nice. Clean. Family friendly. Got the liver & onions with okra, rice, gravy & cornbread muffin. No complaints about the tasty oversized portions. I skipped dinner and will have leftovers for lunch. Service was excellent and restrooms were clean.
