The line was about 10 mins on Valentine’s Day evening half an hour before closing. We got a loaf of olive bread, Roulad, molasses spice cookie and they gave us a free French baguette! Everything was delicious and the serve is pretty quick! Highly recommended

Clear Flour Bread is a well-regarded bakery located near the Brookline-Allston line, in a small residential area.

The line does appear to be long when visiting, however that is mainly due to the store allowing only 3 parties within the space at a time due to how small the store is. There is no seating at this location.

There are a wide variety of breads and pastries available, all reasonably priced and good portion sizes. We got a variety of offerings, such as coconut macarons, cookies, croissants, and herb butter sesame bread. They were all tasty, can be a little hard when first served but toasts well and has a great flavor. The highlight was probably the herb butter black sesame bread.

Clear Flour Bread in Brookline is absolutely incredible. The French baguette was perfect, the olive bread was unreal, and every cookie and pastry we tried was next-level. There was a line out the door when we got there, but it moved fast and was 100% worth it. We grabbed cappuccinos from the little coffee bar next door and they were the perfect pairing.

Sharday, one of their amazing bakers, told me to stop by — and she did not miss. Benji took great care of us and made sure our whole order was dialed in. We’ll definitely be back. This place is a gem.

Line gets long at times, but it’s worth the wait. These are the best croissants in Boston. I’d highly recommend the chocolate pretzel croissants, if you can get your hands on them. Their bread is fantastic too which goes without saying

I haven’t enjoyed their desserts, honestly, but this place is so good that it still deserves five stars

As recommended by a friend, we made the trip to Clear Flour Bread in Brookline on a Sunday morning. Even before we parked, we spotted the line of people waiting outside and knew right away that our 50-minute drive would be worth it.

The pastries did not disappoint—everything we tried was absolutely delicious. While there’s no indoor seating, you can enjoy your fresh-baked treats on a bench right outside, which adds to the charm. It was also surprising to learn that most of the customers were locals who stop by almost every week—always a good sign!

The only downside is that they don’t serve coffee at the same counter, so we had to grab ours from their Coffee Bar next door. Still, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Went to pick up some bread and baked goods. The line was crrrazzzy but I wasn’t expecting it so maybe that’s just something you must emotionally prepare for ahead of time. The staff were very nice. Their baked goods and bread were lovely but not mind blowing. I’m not sure I’d go back but if you’re looking for something on a nice day it could be a good option.

Thanks to google maps, this sparked our curiosity. Highly recommend. Wonderful selection of fresh made breads and pastry eats. We ordered quite a bit since we wanted to try as much as we can. Our stay was short but we’ll be here again if we’re in Boston.

Delicious bakery with the croissants a stand out. Long line, we waited like 20 minutes, but worth it for the goodies. The coffee shop is separate, so if you go with someone, you can split up and order drinks while one person waits in line. Small area inside, no seating

The best bakery in a town with lots of great bakeries. Totally worth the wait on a busy Saturday. The fougass doesn’t come out until 10am, but it’s the best- crunch olive oil, salt, and pumpkin seed bread. Everything else is amazing too.

Updating again after trying the small banana cream pie. It was delicious, tasted so light and not too. It had slices of fresh bananas inside and a buttery crust. I never liked banana cream pies but am now a convert. I really appreciate the fact that there’s such a large variety of baked goods that I can try at this bakery.

Updating prior review after trying more baked goods. We tried the no nuts carrot cake and lemon poundcake this time. The carrot cake was fine and not too sweet but a bit dry. The small lemon poundcake loaf was VERY dry when we ate half of it after we brought it home. The other half became very hard the next day. This was very disappointing, especially considering it was a pricey item.

Since it’s German week at the bakery, I decided to brave the potentially long queue to try their pretzel and pretzel croissant that I’ve heard so much about. Luckily, there was almost no waiting at all around 1pm on a Mon afternoon.

The pretzel croissant was as advertised. It had a great pretzel saltiness and a unique flavor which I’ve never had before in a croissant. This was the star out of everything I tried.

The plain pretzel and Plum Berliner were not successful. The pretzel had the texture and taste of a bagel, nothing special, unlike the pretzels that I’ve enjoyed in Frankfurt. The Berliner was a disappointment given that it tasted so different from the website description. It was quite dense, not soft. The plum jam inside was nice but overall was so so. I would not get either of these again.

However, I would go back for the pretzel croissant which is stellar in my opinion and I do give a lot of credit to this bakery that always try to bring interesting flavors to the neighborhood.
