We arrived on a Saturday night around 8 pm, and it was crowded enough to be lively but not remotely packed, which was perfect. They had a special of 5 16 oz. Miller high life cans and an 8 oz bottle in a bucket for 15 bucks which is awesome to see in downtown! No cover, and the food was equally great! Live music, friendly crowd that goes here, and it’s a great time. Would highly recommend.

Bathrooms were also very clean.

I will say that there was a decent line of 30-50 people when we left around 11 pm, so keep that in mind.

The back bar had 3 extremely friendly ladies who worked hard to keep up .! Amazing & as friendly as anyone can be .! Very impressed especially since how packed it was This past Saturday night . February 21st. Walking through the bar was kinda fun , crowded as anything, but it won’t ruin anything, if you can’t take a crowd stay home anyway.! Being in my 40’s I didn’t feel old as I do other places, the band played non stop for hours and I even got tired for them .! They did sound amazing.! Can’t wait to go back and check out the next bands , I would recommend going to Clayton’s ! On Saturday nights, I can’t wait to get back. Thank you for bringing a country bar to Indy .! We might need a few more .

Had a fun night at the grand opening of this new country bar. Heard about it a few months ago on a local sports radio station when the owner did an interview. They did a really good job with all the decorations throughout the place. Clayton Anderson performed for almost 4 hours which was amazing. He spent time afterwards meeting people in the crowd. The place was packed and a fun environment. The only issue was the wait time from the bar tenders. They didn’t move across the entire bar to serve people which made long wait times for others.

I visited Clayton’s on Saturday, January 18, 2026, and wanted to share some feedback about my experience.

Overall, I was very pleased with the atmosphere and the service at the front bar. Unfortunately, my experience at the back bar was disappointing. When my friend and I moved there, there were three bartenders behind the bar. Two of them appeared disengaged, standing and talking to each other despite the bar being busy. As someone who works in the service industry and bartends myself, this stood out immediately.

When I asked if they were working and then requested a drink, they did not seem interested in assisting customers and appeared more focused on their conversation. I was also surprised to see liquor being poured directly from bottles without jiggers or pourers, which raised concerns about consistency and professionalism.

The third bartender came across as rude and acted as though customers were an inconvenience, which further impacted the experience.

Additionally, we ordered a large pizza for two people, as that was the only size offered. There were no to-go containers available, which I found unusual and inconvenient, especially since leftovers were unavoidable.

Clayton’s has a great atmosphere and a lot of potential, which is why I felt it was important to share this feedback. The issues we experienced seemed tied specifically to staffing and service practices at the back bar. Addressing these concerns and considering offering to-go containers could greatly improve the overall customer experience.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope the feedback is helpful.

Sincerely,
Bobbi Jania

If I had to rank my bar experiences, this one definitely ranks last. I was with 2 friends at the bar when we saw a group of guys walk in, I knew one of them from college so I was pumped to see it was him! Next thing I know, his friend is getting kicked out! Before I could do anything, my buddy and the others got thrown out too! I don’t know who he was with, but I know if they’re with Frank, they’re not too much trouble… lol. My friends and I decided to leave, and we caught up at the Wild Beaver with the group of guys, to which we found out that one got kicked out for having the “wrong height” on his id??? Not like the guy was 5’9 and the id said 6’8, the bouncer said he was 1 inch shorter than the id??? Really cool group of guys too… I even talked to one of them about Norte Dame football.

We were so excited to check out this country bar because we love country music and were ready to kick off the night with some drinks. Unfortunately, the service at the bar made it hard to enjoy the experience.

As a former bartender, I understand how busy a bar can get, so I was patient. After about 10 minutes, the bartender cleared the first round and started making her way down the line, serving people one by one. The issue? She skipped us not once, not twice, but three times. Even after we politely raised our hands, she made eye contact… and still chose to serve a guy who had just walked up.

It’s really discouraging when you’re excited to spend money somewhere but end up feeling overlooked and uncomfortable — especially as a Black woman. I wanted to enjoy myself, but the lack of acknowledgment made that hard.

I might give this place one more try because the vibe itself seemed fun, but if I do, I hope the service is better. Honestly, if I were behind that bar, I would’ve had people remembering my name by the end of the night just off my energy and efficiency alone. And for what it’s worth — their bartender couldn’t even pour a beer correctly.

Love the concept, HATE the layout. This place could be a lot of fun if it wasn’t so difficult to move around inside. Whoever designed this place did not put any real thought into the crowd logistics. It’s nearly impossible to move around on a crowded night; there are too many congestion points. It reminds me of the old Kilroy’s in Bloomington back in early 2000’s before it underwent the remodel.

They really should put the stage at the back of the bar and remove the island bar that runs through crowd. That would make the place feel less congested and allow for a better crowd flow on their busy nights.
