Laid-back steakhouse featuring a salad bar & a self-serve drink station, plus chophouse classics.

The service was splendid, I don’t want to give a bad impression of this facility. There was a mix up of our food. But our waitress and the manager accommodated my wife and I. This was our 8 year anniversary celebration. This place made it to our top five steak restaurants. The flavor was awesome and those twice baked loaded potatoes, nothing else needs to be said. And the atmosphere was great.

Perfect lunch spot. Able to carry a conversation. I ordered the Ribeye Steak sandwich, cook perfectly, tender, and juicy. The side salad added this breath of freshness. My friend got the burger with those scrumptious broasted potatoes crispy, seasoned outside and buttery inside. He stayed the most excellent potatoes he’s had in a long time.

Hands down the best steak and service around, there isn’t even a close second. If you’ve never dined at the Clayton Steakhouse, do yourself a favor, you will not be disappointed. We were immediately greeted upon arrival and taken to our table (it was Mother’s Day, so we had a reservation). We’ve eaten here a few times, it doesn’t matter what you order it’s always cooked to perfection. No other establishment can rival their salad bar, if they don’t have it, you don’t need it. For Mother’s Day they offered a shrimp cocktail appetizer, it was excellent and the shrimp were huge. We both ordered ribeye, which were cooked to perfection. You can tell it’s a “family” environment, the servers all help one another, are very knowledgeable about the menu and always very pleasant. Their bar tenders are top notch and the consistency of their cocktails never changes. They have a large selection of bourbon, some great specialty drinks and an ample choice of draught beer. The Clayton Steakhouse is the perfect location for a quick lunch or a dinner meal.

While the service was top notch, unfortunately the food didn’t meet expectations, especially for the price. We enjoyed the salad bar and desserts, but my filet was tough, my mom’s steak was undercooked, and my dad’s steak was a hockey puck. Texas toast seemed straight out the freezer. Would be nice to have fresher bread, rolls, something. We still had a good evening but certainly didn’t live up to the hype.

Had the pleasure of enjoying a social event and fundraiser at Clayton steakhouse. It was a very pleasurable experience. The food and service was very good. The bourbon selection and cocktail menu were great! The staff and establishment were very gracious in having us there for this event and we are quite thankful for them. You should definitely have dinner and a drink here if this is something you have yet to do!

First time here and I had a wonderful experience!
We sat in the bar because it was crowded and we did not have a reservation but still had a great dinner.
Our waitress, Tonya was amazing! She was attentive and cheerful!
We started with the fried green beans with wasabi dipped sauce. 8/10 Perfectly fried and not greasy which is a plus! $10
The salad bar alone had a lot of choices and each entree comes with it, along with a side and some Texas toast.
My 12 oz ribeye was very tender and delicious! $37
My son ordered the 12 oz NY strip medium well, but felt like it was too tough and had a lot of fat on it. $35
We tried their bbq sauce on the side and I will tell you what, I could drink that sauce! I wish they had ribs on the menu because I would order them drenched in that sauce!
Just looking around, I felt like there are a lot of locals that come here and I can see why!

Was there last night. Ordered my usual, small sirloin, baked potato. The salad bar is excellent, but I was very disappointed in the entree. I order the steak medium rare, it was well done. I like to eat the potato skin, couldn’t because it was burnt black on one side. I did express my displeasure to the waitress and she discounted my bill by $15. It appears that they have raised their prices again. The bill was about $90 with tip.I don’t go there for a bargain, I go because I expect superior quality. I will go back one more time, but if it happens again, it will be the last time.

My husband and I went here last night ( 12/10/25) and there was not a table available so we went to the bar. We were told rudely to scoot down, so we did. Sarah was our Bartender at first and she was very friendly. We ask her if the crab cake was lump Crab and she said yes but No it was not. Harris Teeters has better crab cakes! Fishy too. $15 we forced it down. There was water in the lettuce at the salad bar, which would have been a point with Health Inspector. My Salmon was so well down it would not flake, sweet potato fries were so burnt they were black and the so called fresh veggies of the day was watery and bland. My husband’s ribeye was well wanted Medium Rare and potato so cold the butter would not melt. Every thing got sent back only to come back completely RAW. Not knowing until my husband asked her if she was the owner and not Sarah but the owner was making excuses about the burnt fries, raw food, and had a bad attitude. We paid for our wine and fishy crab cake and left. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO THERE. Nothing was fresh as they advertise and but you can bet there is plenty of FRESH ATTITUDE!!!
