Haven’t eaten here in a long time. Got the turkey salad. For almost $11.00 they sure could have done better. There’s not a whole lot of salad and not much meat. It’s chopped up so small where I didn’t even taste the turkey. I use to get the sliced brisket poboy but those are so expensive I don’t get those anymore either. It’ll be a no on any more salads too. #disappointed.

The Barbecue was tasty and well cooked, and the staff was very kind. However, I don’t feel the meal was worth the cost. I ordered a three meet plate which included a leg quarter, spare rib , a piece of smoked sausage, two sides and a drink. Oh yeah, and a very large piece of Texas toasts. All for only $14 bucks! (rounding up) I had green beans and coldslaw for my sides, the slaw was good but the beans were unseasoned and tasteless. My wife had “the days special”, two pieces of spare rib and two sides for $9 and $2 for the drink. She had coleslaw and sweet potato for sides. She says the piece of meat was good but a very small portion for the cost. The coleslaw was good but the sweet potato wasn’t very sweet at all. So total I spent $25 for lunch for two. We ate at Sonny’s barbecue a few weeks earlier, and I complained about their price too. But the taste and portions made it easier to swallow.

This place is tucked away conveniently of the main drag… don’t let the office building frighten you away! …you’re in for some Excellent food! Menu has plate dinners and lots of other yummy selections… ribs were meaty… & pork and brisket were super tasty… plenty of delicious sides to tempt your appetite including slaw, green beans, potato salad, onion rings and more… they even have Homemade ice cream!!

I called in an order like 30 minutes before my lunch break and asked if it could be ready for 11, because I only had 30 minutes. When I got there I paid for my order and the waitress went in the back to get it…only to come back and tell me that it still wasn’t ready yet, even though I called it in 30 minutes prior. Being that I had already paid, I had to wait until 11:18 for my food to be done. I was unable to eat because I had to hurry up and get to class, which I was almost late for because of the wait. I didn’t get to eat my lunch until 5:30!!! Even though I had to microwave it, it was still ok.
My next visit there I ordered the fish dinner because I’ve heard good things about it. Mine was extremely salty, like almost inedible salty, and the mac and cheese was very dry. I guess I chose to eat there on the days when the staff was off their game. Everyone raves about the good food and great service and experiences, but unfortunately I have yet to receive one. Hopefully my next visit will be a lot better than my prior ones, if not, it’ll be my last!!

I got a gift card for Clays as a Christmas gift. I have to say it was awful. I ordered two hamburgers with everything (except onions). An order of onion rings with one and fries with the other. I think the menu said onion rings were an extra dollar. The hamburger tasted like a soybean patty. It had a single piece of lettuce, three quarters of a slice of tomato, no cheese or bacon. I had a total of 5 small onion rings which one of them was the outside skin and the fries were awful. The bread was burned on one side were they pressed it. The only thing we enjoyed was the coke and sweet tea. It costed $30.68. I hope I never get another gift card for Clays.

Got a brisket poboy & fry and paid over $17. Whatever grill they used to grill the bread made everything taste like rancid old grease. Worst brisket I’ve ever had. Way over priced for the amount of food you get and very poor quality.

The 3 meat plate with Fried Green Beans and Potato Salad is good. I got Ribs, Brisket, and Sausage. 14.99.
I was stuffed. It was good and their sweet tea was also good. Very family oriented and awesome people work here. First time here and it won’t be my last Lord willing.

My grandson and I went yesterday. We have been going for 11 years. But haven’t been all summer. There were some changes and I guess more to come. They have changed aspects of food, as in French fries are different, hamburger was good but smaller, not sure if crab cakes are the same – they were good but I can’t eat imitation crab, so need to ask. Now I took sliced pork and beef with a baked potato home and it was good. So, it’s a bar b que place and that was the same and good.
