Been here many times and always recommend to others. Food is always delicious. Good prices and good portions. Fast and friendly service.

I’m not sure if the coffee here was brewed or excavated. It arrived somehow both cold and burnt at the same time, which is honestly impressive from a physics standpoint. It tasted like someone filtered hot water through a 1997 ashtray and let it sit on the counter until the Clinton administration ended.

We also ordered two matchas for the kids. Calling them “matcha” feels generous—they had the color of lawn clippings and the flavor of regret. My kids, who will happily consume gas station sushi and ketchup sandwiches, couldn’t even choke them down. One took a sip, stared into the middle distance like he’d just seen something he couldn’t unsee, and quietly set it down.

The place itself looked like the health inspector walks in just to build character.

If you’re looking for a caffeine experience that doubles as a test of emotional resilience, this is your spot.

Great coffee shop in downtown Topeka.
I actually prefer this one to the larger one. They don’t have it so dark in here that you can’t see anything.

The staff was very upbeat. Super friendly and helpful. Giving you that hometown feeling.

The coffee was great. It actually tasted like coffee. And the Muffin was ok. They warmed it up for me.

The dining area is well designed. There are plenty of wonderful atmrt pieces on the wall.

I will definitely come back to this shop.

This was my first visit to the downtown location, it didn’t disappoint. A smaller venue than the store on Fairlawn, gives it more of a homey cozy feeling. I had a Breve. The nice thing is there are sugar free add ins. Going after work (about 4:30ish) meant there was no crowd to bother with. I went to meet up a friend. The noise level stayed low, so we were able to focus on our conversation. They have a wide variety of menu items. I ordered a salad to go. This is the only downfall; the food was a bit overpriced for what I got. Nontheless, I would definitely go back for the wide array of warm delicious beverages. Both locations serve alcoholic drinks so it might be a nice alternative to a traditional bar.

There are not enough words or stars to express how much I adore this coffee shop, especially the downtown location. You can tell how much Doug pours his heart and soul (and espresso) into his cafe. The art exhibits are cycled every couple of months, I believe. Both locations feature local artists who hang their musings on the walls and into the eyes community, giving everyone (locals and visitors), a chance to connect and even support local businesses and art communities. The ambiance is quiet, warm, and inviting. Their radio is soft enough to have pleasant conversations over but just loud enough to take in your surroundings. In addition, their music selection is broad: from the 60s to current hits – No matter what is on their radio, it adds that extra touch of familiarity. Every Thursday, I stop in with large drink orders, which Nicole and Doug handle like champs. To add, they remember names and orders – and not just mine and my co-workers: Time and time again, I witness a patron walk through the front door, and Nicole or Doug are already preparing that person’s order and greeting them by name and a smile. This coffee shop is a staple and a beloved gem of the Topeka Community. I love this place and I love you, Doug and Nicole! Thank you for making my mornings so warm and bright!

Stopped in as I occasionally do for a caramel frappe. I ended up ordering a ruben with pasta salad.

The Ruben was great. I love their pasta salad.

Nice people, great spot. The coffee was very good, my drink has to be dairy free, they were very concerned that it was made right. The place was cozy and bigger than I thought, it almost reminds me of an Italian restaurant. Will visit again next time we pass through town.

Great, friendly service. Staff has lots of personality. Delicious Chai Tea and the Spinach Citrus Salad with grilled chicken was awesome (I want to bathe in the dressing). Varied seating options, and I love the art hanging on the wall. Just the kind of quirky local place I love!
